I wonder sometimes whether part of the Lampard appointment was about profile. I know we're top of the league but I feel it is noticed a lot more by the media because of who the manager is, and he's very willing to speak.

Doug demands the best and wants to succeed. Our profile on and off the pitch is off the chart because of Lampard. At the end of the day the media pull between Lampard and Robins isn’t even a debate.

Were there not comments from owners that said Coventry were constantly losing out on player recruitment? Perhaps young players would be more likely to want to play under Lampard, someone they know rather than Robins

Cardiff in 2010/11 last side not to be promoted after collecting 31 points after 14 games

Good read.

Although MR wasn't the longest serving EFL manager when he was sacked, he was 2nd longest behind Simon Weaver of Harrogate.

Remember that season- they seemed to be miles ahead . Still made the playoffs in 4th a bit like Sunderland but they went out in the semi final.

We finished in our traditional 18th place

He wasn’t an EFL manager for that long though. Mostly non league.

The one big concern is if we get hit by injuries to key players. That really could scupper us .

I really think we need to do some business in the January window.

Good thing in that circumstance is that players will now surely want to come to us over other teams, what with us sitting at the very top of the league.
