So, who genuinely doesn't believe that Fox and Ward aren't off to join Billy Davies at Nottingham Forest?

Seriously. The way things are looking, and god knows it's grim, are Cov in any position NOT to accept losing players before bringing new ones in.

I think that Fox to Forest is pretty much a done deal. Just look at the other transfers they've fixed up this summer. Chris Gunter for £1.75m!? He's easily worth twice that. Likewise Paul Anderson. He was frickin' brilliant at Swansea season before last. Never thought Liverppol would part with him. Never thought Spurs would part with Gunter.

Mind you they have picked up old Dele, so it's not ALL good.

Forest appear to have this magical power to negotiate players away from clubs right now. And then there were rumors that they weren't just in for Fox this moring, but Elliot Ward, in the paper, too.

Not being funny, but I reckon they are gone.

No point pretending that we're a good proposition for players, right now. If we'd signed a couple of faces by now it would different. But we were shite last season. A few more unlucky results abnd we would have been relagation candidates. As it was we were on the cusp. The right side of it.

If I were Fox or Ward, and I heard Billy Davies was interested I sodding would be interested, that's for sure! Just look at the guy's record for success! And now he's behind a club the size of Forest he's got a good thing going. They were all but down without a chance when he came in. He managed to turn them into a side which certainly played us off the park away from home. Much as that screws me off.

I think both would be big losses, but I can honestly see them thinking it's a move they can't pass up.

Really? I think Ward wants to stay at City though. I would have thought if they did both go they would want to go to a Premier League team (bottom end) like Fulham or Hull or somebody like them.

I guess it depends. I mean we've heard Premier teams sniffing around in the past. But never anything concrete. Right now I reckon any money is good money.

Ward - maybe
Fox - No way!

There's no way that Fox would go to a team that's not a premiership club, unless the offer an awful amount of money. Where the hell did they get the money to buy all of these players they have done anyway?

They're owned by the guy who owns Umbro apparently. One half of some big balls London investment capital firm or something.

Wish somebody like that would invest in Cov.

I still think Danny will end up joining them. I know West Brom were linked at some point, but there's been no actual bid. The telegraph has talked bids from Forest.

In my opinion, we can't afford to lose Fox. Losing Ward wouldn't be such a good idea either.

I should hope that Coleman has more sense than to let them both go for less than 5 million. To be honest, if I was Coleman, I would probably put a £5million tag on Fox, just as a deterrant.

Well it looks like Fox is going to Celtic, so it's going to be a real struggle this season.

I'm gutted he's going, it's going to be a really long slog this season as it seems Coleman isn't going to get the money to reinvest.

They have to do something though surely? They won't make it through the start of the season without a few new signings!

Dunno mate, I see us struggling like mad at the moment. I don't see us finding the quality we need.

Forest offered £1.6 mil and that was rejected so I doubt it's as little as £1.5. Still thoroughly annoyed by this, but what can we do?

I would have though it would be quite high unless we are getting a player or three back this way?

Danny Fox is a good player to be honest, he is great both going forward and defending and like you say takes a great free kick

I think that he would do well in the SPL

What the hell? That link says we got £2million for him! Surely to God, he's better than Scott Dann, and we got £3.5million for him! If we let him go for £2million, and are happy with that, I'd say we don't deserve to be in the championship. Especially if we're selling all of our best players and not bringing anyone back in to counter balance it!

It's very stressful being a Coventry fan, and it always will be!

I'm only really just catching up with the back story on this - I never really knew Forest showed interest before Celtic did - but to learn that he went to Celtic for LESS than Forest were offering...its criminal?! But I've learned to just accept players being sold from Cov, we are always going to be a selling club afterall! But Forest do seem to be signing a lot of players, they must have something special to offer?! A fit escort girl to accompany each Forest player to all games or something?! lol.

Has there been any more news on Ward leaving? I don't think it would be THAT much of a loss if he left but then again I suppose we wouldn't know if it affected it us until it actually happened!
