I'm not sure how anyone could all Nimely a class signing for us, given he's only made 2 professional appearances, couldn't get in the palace side on loan, in the 2 seasons since he was here.

I would prefer spending some of the Wilson dosh on Winnall and Hogan, would have Nimely as backup though.

I know you hate Nimely and that but Palace were in the championship and pushing for promotion at the time, nothing to suggest he couldn't perform in league 1

Our best strikers in the last few years couldn't get a sniff in championship teams when we signed then

We need to get someone in quickly anyway, no use getting someone a few days before the first match and being told he needs time to adapt to our tactics. We quickly need him in to do an almost full preseason with the team

I don't 'hate' Nimely. I just don't think he was as good as some thought he was. Given that he was tipped as the best youngster in england by Sven goran erikson

Nimely, described by former England and City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson as the "best young player" he had ever seen,

His progress at 23 is v poor, he didn't even go out on loan at all last season.

Yes, there nothing to suggest that struggling in the championship means he couldn't perform in league one, but conversely it doesn't mean he would perform in league one.

I just don't see how you can point to a bit of form over 2 seasons ago and say yeah he'll do a job. Look at Delfouneso - looked a real talent a few years back in the PL.

Farid El Alagui, Alex Nimely and Tom Eaves are my guess.

Wilson was on BBC "South Today" earlier (due the the Bournemouth link). He was saying that he was really looking forward to playing for Bournemouth in the Championship and hoping to be pushing for promotion. Can't blame him I suppose.

Nimely would be a superb signing at this level. He wouldnt come though. I have a feeling we may end up with Farid El Alagui.

But you said Delfouneso was a very good signing for us. Others are saying that Nimely may be a good signing for us.

With your call on Delf I think I'll leave your judgement to one side. Stick to stats Stupot.

Yes, I thought delfouneso would be a good signing, party based on the promise he showed at villa and partly because half my family are villa fans and had been telling me for a couple of years we should sign him, I was wrong. Sue me.

He may be a 'good' signing, he may not. I just don't think he would be a 'great' signing.

He's a stat for you. Nimely 31 games 1 goal.

And it's not just about technical ability, it's about character. I would question Nimely's desire, 23 on only 2 games in 2 seasons, he should've been knocking the managers door down to go out on loan last season. He'll be 24 at the end next season, 1/3rd of his career gone and only played 31 games. Look a ravel Morrison, rejecting Man U to get games.

No he wouldn't. Wilson looks to go in behind, Nimely prefers to drop deep into the number 10 role and run at people from deep.

Wilson also likes to get in the box on the end of things, where as Nimely would play the ball out wide then stand outside the 18 yards box.

People questioned Leon Clarke's character and desire, remind me how many goals he scored for us last season upto January? So he left for somewhere else but he did the business for us when he was here and some said that was down to Pressley getting the best out of him, so what tells you that Pressley wouldn't get the best out of Nimely? League 1 has shown us that you don't have to be 'great' to do well in it.

Oh, by the way, I'll see you in court

What do you expect him to say? " Bournemouth are shit, can't believe I joined them and left my boyhood club who are doing so well in League 1 in no stadium and no fans to come and watch me" ???

Hang on. You're comparing a striker with a bad attitude but a proven track record of scoring goals in league one, who was already the leagues 2nd top scorer when we signed him, with a lad who's played just 31 games and scored 1 goal........

Ok then...

Will probably get the goals, but command a hefty salary and may not fit the work ethic SP looks for?
