Hey everyone, I'm currently on working for Four Four Two magazine and as part of our forthcoming Football League special issue, we're looking to publish a collection of the funniest fan stories from across the Football League THIS season and were wondering if you or any of you Coventry fans were able to help? Many of the stories will be appear in the magazine.

The stories can be about anyone at the club – player, manager, chairman, club employee – or something you've witnessed inside or outside the ground this season, concerning the home or away fans. Or it could simply be something bizarre you've seen or a funny chant.

Here is an example of the kind of thing we're after.

Sign him up, sign him up
"Just as our game against Crewe was about to kick-off last week (I'm a Brentford fan), out of nowhere a Siberian Husky scampers across the pitch like something from a Winalot advert. As it frolics on the pitch, looking genuinely pleased with itself, some of the players attempt to usher it back into the stands. Not Crewe's No.9 Matthias Pogba, though. The hulking centre forward appears to yelp as the friendly canine trotts by him, much to the obvious delight of my fellow Bees. After serenading the eager mut - "sign him up, sign him up" - we turn our attention to Pogba. As well as barking at him every time he touches the ball, we chant: “Matthias Pogba, he’s scared of a dog!” Pogba's look of utter confusion only adds to the hilarity, as we go on to win 3-1."
Darren F, Brentford fan

This is a great chance to get yourself in the magazine. Email me with your stories at fftfans@gmail.com or just post in here if easier.

Thanks for reading,

Joel Goldman

Something funny:thinking about:, I heard from some bloke that apparently we are going to build a new football stadium, that made me laugh. I also heard some fans say that playing your home games 35 miles away from your home town with 1,500 fans can work as a positive. Wait for it......................

Jesus christ lads, leave the SISU stuff in the other 4000 threads yeah?

The streaker in a Xmas hat running onto the pitch and giving Big Mo a kiss still raises a smile. Was it the same game McAllister scored that incredible volley?

It needs to be from this season in particular, any funny chants about playing in Northampton or in general about Sisu? Keep it clean though.

Thanks,

Joel

Can of worms opened there Joel! Good luck.

Saying that, I do always enjoy Leyton Orient away singing at the fans in the flats in the corner of the ground:
"We know where you live!"

Are you actually from the magazine? Bit odd to send to a Gmail account rather than their own address.

Being told by a gooner on the train to the game that our protest would go wrong as the Emirates clock counts down from 45, I defended the integrity of the cov fans but then witnessed all the cov fans put up the Why signs 10 minutes early, as if we couldn't get any stupider

Yes I am from the magazine, we set up a specific email for this topic so the others would not get clogged up. Any stories, chants etc would be a great help

There's a character on here called Grendel who took an age compiling relative rents across the country in order to find Tim Fisher's sacred 'Average League One' rent; when he was the only person in northern europe who actually believed our current malaise was ever about rent levels. He's your man. Right laugh. Does kid's parties and makes balloon animals too

I remember at one game in the early 80s - not sure who against - and me and a friend were sat there in the freezing cold. It was so cold that when he stood up to go to the toilet at half time he could hardly walk. I said he looked like an old man and I pointed this out to some people sitting near by who did a very good job of concealing their laughter! But the reason it was so funny was because he was actually quite young and not old at all!!! LOL!

True story, that!

Personally, I loved the guy who wanted fans going to Sixfields to be involved in car accidents. Still chuckle when I think about that one.

I remember going to the Victoria Ground in the mid-80s for a Full Members Cup game and there were 16 of us in the away end. Sad, but true. And not particularly funny.

One to get people spitting feathers.

One of the funniest things I heard in football, was that people think Andy Thorn was a good football manager. Hilarious :claping hands:

Thank God you mentioned that. The thread was in danger of not having the S word in there somewhere. Well done.
