Did any once else attending today's game get annoyed with the cov fan continuously shouting "forward, get the ball forward" every time we were in possession. Even if we were attacking he would still constantly shout it. I did see one guy tell him to shut up which provoct an attack of verbal abuse in return.

Was he in his 60's? If so it might be the bloke who sat a couple of rows in front of me.

Who didn't get annoyed, what a twat he was. Also the one near the very bottom who was shouting for the team to hoof it and shoot form 80 yards. Some weird fans we have.

Have full sympathy with anyone shouting 'forward' after us having been going backwards for so many years.

I think it was MAD KEN
Give him a break, he is harmless and all he has in is sad old life is Coventry City. It will be hard on him not to go to home games, he is only allowed out on Saturdays.
He means well.

Some comments on here abit out of order, Al's been going for donkeys years and is a nice chap, very passionate and sometimes gets a little bit annoyed when passing side to side as wants to see the team score goals which I am sure we all want to see. Coventry through and through so people saying he annoying as fuck need to have a look at themselves as its freedom of speech at Football matches and you will get various types of individuals.

I'm all for seeing the team score goals, but when he is shouting "forwards" when the team are actually going forwards it's pretty annoying. He was sat directly behind me and his choice of language when we conceded was disgusting. Some guy told him to shut up, then we conceded and in response he said "It's your fault we conceded so now I'm going to make you look like a complete c*nt infront of everyone". I struggle to see that as a friendly comment.

Hmm, No I agree not a friendly comment and quite strange he said that, but he means no harm, he obviously been on the beer again and just very passionate.

Sounds like a charmer.

I bet he longs for the Messiah to return, or Aidy Bothroyd as others know him.

Yeah he seemed like he may have sampled some of the local ale, don't get me wrong I am all for getting behind the team and urging them on.

these sorts of people want 60/70 yarders knocking up field, but will moan if its down a defenders throat, or it gets flicked on for a throw / gk. I am not saying we will ever be anywhere near barcelona, arsenal, chelsea etc. But pass and move. keep the ball. patience etc. I can not stand people who when we get the ball want it launching forward. Modern football just isn't like that. I don't think many barcelona fans go mental when they keep the ball for 5 mins before having a shot.

It's all about patience if some people don't see us strolling over sides every time we go forward, then they get frustrated, I am a big a fan of keeping the ball and building patiently but I do understand that there are so many benefits to it as do many others I am sure quite a few pissed gents in there later years aren't so aware.

Quick, direct football when played properly can be just as effective as the slow possession game-just look at the success of German teams, both national and domestic, who play this way.

More than one way to win a game.

That doesn't preclude the choice of square pass rather than hoof however.

Of course not. However, square passing with no end product and gifting back possession benefits nobody but the other team. It was a Thorn favourite.

I agree. Have bumped into him at lots of away games. Sound bloke. As has been said can be a bit irritating at times, but he loves our club. How many that are having a go at him put as much effort into following our club as he does?

Just wondering about applying the same opinion of "Pissed twenty somethings" As BSB has rightly stated the "Quick game can be more than good enough to win games". I seem to recollect that the Slow, keep ball build up of the Barcelona game getting "Royally fooked 4-0" by the quick Bayern play. Right or wrong?

Exactly, great comment, Al goes everywhere and has done for years, and is very very passionate, agreed he may not get the modern day concept of keeping the ball and building attacks all be it quick or slow attacks, but people who know him will vouch he does not mean any harm
