Very interesting read. Sounds like he's made for league one and championship and promoting the right brand of football at the same time. Be nice if A) we stay up and B) he stay's on and our owners back him to deliver the brand of football we want to see and he clearly wants his team to play.

I feel even more confident with him at the helm to be honest. I know the short-term contract seems to be a bit of a bummer, but with the way he's talking in the media then that will be extended anyway. I don't think we'll be going down now.

If he does well he will be off, why would he not be? he wants (like any manager) to manage at the highest level he can, if he does well here over the next 8 weeks he will almost certainly be in demand and he will be able to negotiate for a much better salary. Our only realistic chance of him being here next year is for us to do Ok, stay up but not do well. Then he won't be in demand and we can sign him.

In fact it's probably even more likely that he stays after relegation than it is him staying after a good run to the end of the season.

This general assumption by some on here that TM would be in demand are delusional. There are plenty of available managers out there unemployed and probably wondering if they will get the chance again. If you have been out the game for sometime you have a lot to prove again no matter how positive a press conference you give. What TM needs to do is take CCFC back to the premier league. Once there is there a club bigger than us likely wanting him? No his level is a lower premiership top end of championship ship club which we need to be and he needs to make us back into. I think if successful with us to that extent he would stick with it unless sacked. And there's the conundrum a lot of water to pass under the bridge between now and then. What TM has done is take on a club I genuinely believe he wants to take back to its rightful place and not stuck I league 1 or forever in the championship.
That is why this is a very exciting opportunity for CCFC and I hope our owners or any owner following will grasp.

you are calling others delusional with this post?

If he does well over the next 2 months at the very least he is going to be demanding much more money from sisu as he will be in a much stronger negotiating position, How often do clubs get to sign a manager who is doing well at that point in time without paying compensation? it's pretty rare so if he succeeds over the next 2 months there will almost certainly be a club in a higher position than us wanting to take him on and be willing to pay more than us. If we want him to stay we need to just do ok.

I would hazard a guess Noggin that TM is on a short term contract to the end of the season open ended and negotiable. At the seasons end if he has shown marked improvement for CCFC the owners will want him to stay on and offer a longer term contract with security and targets. TM as much suggested this himself. Those targets would be incentivised with bonus structures. TM will have his own team, a set up he puts in place, a clear vision of the path the club must take in reaching the next division and beyond. So with some of those goals achieved say next season, why would he then up sticks and leave? He's already at potentially a biggish club and if he is in a strong position at said club, why would he leave to start again elsewhere risking all at another club just for a bigger pay day and the risk all could go tits up if he is building success at CCFC?

I give the man more credit than that. What I can't perceive though are the current owners and what they will or wont do in order to support TM in that quest. That for me is the only way TM would leave (bar shocking results of course) just as Robins did.

If he does well then he will be out of contract, under no obligation whatsoever to stay with very likely an offer from a club in the league above for much more money and a a proper budget to spend. You are giving the man credit by believing he would stay under that circumstance, I don't believe that is giving him credit, thats assuming he is foolish. There is also currently no reason to believe whatsoever that he is going to be treated any better than the previous couple of managers and the likelihood of him getting what he is hoping for in the summer from sisu is almost zero.
