On the last-8 game form guide (which includes of course our capitulations against Ipswich and Blackpool, I hasten to add) we are showing better form than Forest, Doncaster and Pompey.
Doncaster's March is horrible: Brighton, Forest, West Ham, Reading, Derby, Millwall, Southampton and Birmingham. Then they start April going to Leicester and have to come to the Ricoh too.
And Pompey should be in total disarray following their administration, as that's not going to be solved this season. Players leaving, not being paid, etc doesn't make for a happy camp.
Makes you wonder whether potential survival might just be possible.....

Don't get too far ahead of yourself. I was reading on here yesterday that we need at least another 25 points to have a chance of staying up and I am delusional for saying we might need much less as we only need that many if other teams at the bottom get near that many.
I would say 20 points. It is usually around the 50 mark, but I think it will be a few less this year. I would estimate around 44-45 pts could be enough.

I would agree it looks like a few less this year Otis. The teams in the reckoning have plenty of hard games against top teams, and plenty of games amongst themselves. As such, there's only so many points to go round
Since we were relegated teams have gone down from the championship with:-
2001/2= 49pts
2002/3= 46pts
2003/4= 51pts
2004/5= 50pts
2005/6= 42pts
2006/7= 42pts
2007/8= 52pts (Leicester shame!!)
2008/9= 46pts
2009/10= 47pts
2010/11= 42pts
46 is the average...but then again, lies damn lies and statistics.. It would be interesting to know if in these seasons a club going into administration has ultimately influenced the relegation places(points).. does anyone recall?
