Labovitch has been liquidated.

Reported 1st Sept 2014:

A major reshuffle of the board of Coventry City has seen non-executive director Mark Labovitch leave his role at the football club.

Mr Fisher said: “Mark has served Coventry City with characteristic energy for the past three years devoting an enormous amount of time and effort to the club’s cause through a very difficult period and providing robust independent advice to the board.
“We wish him the best and know that he will continue to follow the fortunes of the Sky Blues as closely as ever.
“These board changes had been previously discussed, agreed and decided upon long before the short-term deal that saw us move back to the Ricoh Arena.
“We wanted to get the interim deal completed before we made any announcement around our own changes at boardroom level and we believe the time is now right to make the announcement.
"It’s still very much the club’s focus and intention to own its own ground in order to access the revenues that come with it.”
Mr Labovitch said: “The past three years have been unusually onerous for the independent directors, but it was of the utmost importance to give total support to the board in overcoming the severe difficulties which the club faced.
“I am delighted that the Sky Blues are now able to play back in the city.
"The most rewarding thing for me has been engaging direct with fans, whose advice and encouragement has meant a great deal.”

Mark Labovitch’s time at the Sky Blues in his own words...

Challenging ACL and Coventry City Council to attend a fans’ forum the club was organising: “We don’t think the Ricoh Arena dispute can be properly resolved while so many of the key facts are kept covered up from fans.” The forum never took place.

Immediately after the end of the judicial review brought by the club’s owners:
“This is a side show that has nothing to do with the football club.

“The city has a problem, the club isn’t playing in the city. There’s a problem that needs to be solved and this is not part of that solution.”

After the club was sued by the Alan Edward Higgs Charity:
“I think it is very very regrettable. It is very sad the action should be brought when there’s no legal basis for it.

“I don’t think, if you are a charity, you should be going around suing people unless you are extremely sure of your ground.” A claim from the charity for £29,000 from Sisu was dismissed on the final day of the hearing. On the first day a £290,000 counterclaim from Sisu was thrown out by the judge.

On the Sky Blue Trust:
“I’m not trying to divide them. There are members of the Sky Blue Trust who are extremely constructive, so I guess we have to pick and choose who we deal with.”

Speaking in January about the site for the club’s planned new stadium: “We are about three weeks away from being able to name the final site. We are down to two sites and hopefully, within a month, two will be down to one.”

I remember listening to him thinking he was a frightfully posh and articulate chappie who probably wore a cravat and indulged himself in amateur dramatics occasionally.

Are you slagging someone off for being articulate?

Was that January 2013 or 2014 when we were 'about three weeks away' from naming the final site?

At least he was well trained by TF in his use of 'Fisherisms'

Fisherism - noun: an example of mischievous distortion of the facts in order to mislead, e.g. 'We've paid £800k rent' when in fact over £500k of that rent came from an escrow account.

Nothing's really changed, has it?
