Cedric Roussel did ok. Clement should have been a top player for us. Got injured then Strachan never gave him another look in. Ended up playing over 100 times for Belgium.
The thing that always annoyed me about Cobi Jones was that he wasn't the American that we wanted, according to the press. Alexi Lalas was the man we were after. But on his debut he went on some mad run and won a penalty, against Leeds I think, and looked like he was going to be a proper player. Shame it didn't turn out that way.
De Zeeuw - Had the turning circle of an oil tanker.
Nii Lamptey
Runnar Norman
Laurent Delorge - Never seen a player pull out of so many tackles in his life

I was there the night he broke his leg I am not surprised he pulled out of tackles I heard the crack in the main stand and he done it next to the sky blue stand
Guillaume Beuzelin, I remember watching him play a few times in Scotland and thought he would be a great signing for us. Again sadly it didn’t work out for him
Agree about Jean Guy Willamme. Saw his debut for the reserves playing along side Gary Breen. The pair of them looked brilliant together and think Strachan at the time said you could have "set it to music", they really did look good that night.
After that remember seeing him at home against West Ham with big John Hartson crashing into him for 90 minutes. Don't recall seeing him in a City shirt again (could be wrong) and the next I hear is off back to France. Real shame as I thought apart from the physical side he had a lot to offer.

He was a proper player. He just didn't gel with us.
It's very hard to move from one country to another.
He still holds the record for US caps (164).
He played in three World Cups.
A far, far better player than Alexi Lalas ever was.
Vladimir Gadzhev.
As a Bulgarian international, I expected a lot more from him.
He was supposed to specialise in goals from long distance.
But he only scored one in 16 games for us.
I don't think we ever saw what he was capable of.
We had 2 players from Honduras, Ivan Guerrero and Javier Martinez in the same season under Strachans reign, I think both were internationals which got everyones attention. One only made a few appearances, the other barely touched the first team squad. And would Moldovan be classed as never making it although he is a legend for that one goal against Villa in the Cup ? :cigar:

The thing that really annoyed me about Cobi Jones is that in a moment of madness I purchased a 'Cobi's in town t-shirt' from the club shop. At an impressionable age I thought I looked pretty cool. Big photo of Cobi on it.
Wore it out with my mates and had to endure some epic piss taking.
I remember Shearer playing against us shortly after he joined Blackburn. Man marked by Lloyd McGrath who was pretty handy at that kind of stuff - it's what Lloyd excelled at.
Shearer's performance that day was the best performance I have ever seen by any forward at HR - and that includes our legends such as Wallace/Dublin/Huckerby. Totally different class. At his peak Shearer was fast, direct, technically brilliant and his movement pulled us apart. Injuries took away Shearer's pace but on that day at HR he was something else.
