Following on from michael's post here: http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threa...effield-United?p=546646&viewfull=1#post546646

Would there be any interest in doing a City 'pre match routine' type thing, and building up to the Sheff Utd game somewhere like The Bull & Anchor, and as there's no ground staying there to watch the game?

I'm a big believer such things don't work with no numbers (if me and my mate turn up, it's a bit of a damp squib!) but do remember the place heaving on the opening day of the Ricoh.

Allows for a joined up message that Coventry is the home of Coventry, and allows for fans to show they're there in numbers, split by geography if not by identity.

Also allows for the message that forget SISU, forget ACL... this decision impacts on others' livelihoods too.

But, with no interest, not worth doing, and not worth doing if it ends up diluted with few people at different sites.

So only one way to find out if people might turn up!

Only if you will have a 2 for £8 with me?

I do think it would be good to pack the pubs of Coventry out watching it, put some money in their coffers.

I understand what you're saying NW....but I just believe the wider football world will just view this as City fans going to the pub to watch the TV game.....

...which is exactly what many would have been doing anyway even if the match was at the Ricoh....

For me personally....the protest needs to be large scale & in the ground, so by default, in front of the cameras...... or we may as well not bother....

I personally wouldn't be averse to a big protest in the ground.

Pragmatically however, some would be.

So... rather than everybody going in polar opposite directions, how can they all be unified in same message, different sites?

And this is one way.

If nobody wants to, it's not worth doing. If however the place can be rammed as it was opening day, then it becomes a story beyoind just watching the game in the pub.

It would be show great loyalty to the concept of playing in Coventry if fans carried out their match day routine. It might save the likes of the Three Horse Shoes and the Wheatsheaf from joining many others in pub heaven.

Someone suggested pack the ground and leave after 15/20 minutes. (Hopefully we aren't 3-0 down by then)
I think that would make a statement. I'd even stand on the hill after doing that.

I think something like that makes a much better statement in front of the cameras, more like the shock value!

It does indeed make a statement.

As ever people are so busy fucking bickering about scabs, rent boys etc. that nobody wants to try and unify fans behind one message however.

So what fucking hope have we got?

Agree on impact ................ but I can't face paying SISU to get in.

Yes. The original idea was to pack the ground....spend 5 mins singing our hearts out, then just all turn our backs & walk out...then conga up the hill (it'll still be daylight after 5 mins & we're less likely to leave fans in the ground who have settled to watch the game)

The cameras would love it....

...But it appears the NOPM brigade can't quite get their head around the idea of suspending NOPM for 1 game for the greater good....

Events don't even have to be under NOPM.

Disagreeing with Coventry playing in Northampton doesn't automatically make somebody part of a NOPM collective.

It shouldn't be too hard to get a free ticket though should it? Apparently 700 of the fans last week had them so we could fill the stadium all on free tickets.

I am up for the idea of attending for five or ten minutes and then just leaving, but it needs to be a set moment so everyone knows about it, something unique to us.
