Everyone below Middlesbrough need to average 2.04 ppg min to reach 85 points (14 wins, 5 draws, 4 defeats), we need 1.48 (eg 10 wins, 4 draws, 9 defeats)

Everyone below Middlesbrough need to average 2.26 ppg min to reach 90 (eg 16 wins, 4 draws, 3 defeats) , we need 1.7 (eg 12 wins, 3 draws, 8 defeats).

If I said I hadn't been looking at the fixture list trying to work out when we clinch the title I'd be lying but I don't want to think like that!

Realised I messed up the games played of Stoke and Charlton, they’re on 22 games. Blame the GF Stella.

I'm not there quite yet either.

Just a draw against Ipswich would be absolutey fine.

So, avoid defeat against Ipswich and bring in some good additions in January and I will be fully onboard.

What an opportunity !!
Even on Cwr they were saying we’ve won 2 of the last 6 when over the last 6 we’ve won 3 drawn 2 and lost 1

Its certainly looking like that but other than the points situation, the thing that encourages me most is that we genuinely are by far the best team in this league. We actually look vastly superior to everyone.

I’m not believing it…not yet.
The balance has tipped somewhat though. I started thinking recently, “what if we don’t go up. It would have to be the fuck ups of all fuck ups”.

When we got promoted from league 1, I wouldn’t have it until after the Pompey game. We beat them and I still wasn’t convinced.
Getting to the prem would be a huge achievement. It also feels like it’d be a bit of a step into the unknown.

Middlesbrough are the team closest to us and Ipswich are the only team outside the top 2 capable of putting together the sort of run required to catch us.

....if we go on a bad run.

Finished your sentence for you. 51 points at the halfway point. Everyone else struggling for consistency. Middlesbrough are doing well and are on course for 86 points.

The rest all have problems. Ipswich have been poor away recently with just 2 points from their last 4 games. Before that they were good away but poor at home. So I suppose there's some consistency somewhere . But Ipswich are the 3rd best side so far. 1.65 points per game so far. Heading for a fantastic 76 points. That's just 8 wins from our last 23 games to reach 76 points.

We've got the points on the table. Those in 3rd or below need to get over 0.56 points more than us for every remaining game of the season. If we beat Ipswich this goes up to 0.72 points per game more than us. The pressure is on Ipswich. Lose and the chase for a top 3 place becomes a chase for 2nd.

I get people worrying. I have nagging doubts myself.
But as I've said before, those fears aren't based in logic, there's no logical argument to be made for us messing this up.

Everything points to us getting automatic promotion.

Coming to the end of the most difficult run of games this season with illness running through the squad and the only thing denying us more points is some wasteful finishing.

Yep, that is indeed true.

Not saying it's going to happen (I don't believe we will lose on Monday), but if we did lose, that would put Ipswich 10 points behind us.

We lose 3 in a row (doesn't have to actually be in a row, could just be over a sequence of games) and they win 3, then they could be just 1 point behind.

Again, not saying it's going to happen, but there is a possibility, so while there still is that possibility, I am not totally convinced we will do it.

Just too many memories of years of struggle and missing out. It does make you a little cynical.

I think it's important we don't lose against Ipswich. Especially as we have been pretty invincible at home.

As others have been saying, a win Monday would be absolutey huge.
