This so easily could have become a minute's read in the Other Sports forum until you realise how easily this could have been us, Sunderland fans or that young child at the Stadium of Light.

Gabriela Anelli: Brazilian football mourns Palmeiras fan who died after being hit by bottle

A minute's silence will be held at games in Brazil's top flight in tribute to a fan who died after she was hit by a glass bottle outside a stadium.
www.bbc.co.uk

Not so much at home but certainly away (and definitely at the Stadium of Light). The number of incidents of debris being thrown by fans at opposition fans, vehicles and inadvertently the general public does seem to be increasing year on year. @Sky Blue Pete would you happen to have figures regarding home and away arrests based on antisocial behaviour ?

If you see someone doing something that puts the health and life of a fellow fan, home or away, please tell a steward. If's its outside the ground, tell the Police.

We did tell the steward at Boro away and he did bugger all. And then ironically was hit himself by the next bottle that flew over!

It does seem to be regressing which is sad. Daughter is asking to come Leicester away and I really don’t know what to do.

and if you catch someone you know doing it, call them on their bullsh*t there and then. Most effective way of stamping it out. Self police it as well.

Yeah think you’re right mate. Shame isn’t it. Seemed to be all but gone for a long time but last few years not been great. I did chuckle when that campaign surfaced a year or two again to allow beer in the stands.

Its this sudden fucking fad of people thinking they need a bag of sniff to go football

I mean I know it's always been about but since the Covid lockdown it, and football violence (no coincidence they go hand in hand) have rose massively

Unless you are prepared to take it to a field somewhere and go toe to toe ( which is still a bit sad) then piss off. And anyone chucking stuff from a Safe distance needs sorting out by a couple of their own handy supporters

Fuck all will happen at Leicester, they have a few Cov haters based in SW Leics….but it’s 12.00 pm on a Sunday. There will be some mouthy teenagers bigging it up on both sides but it will be a no show.
Just be discreet with colours and keep vigilant for isolated arseholes and you’ll be fine.

I imagine the police will be all over it but I wouldn’t say “fuck all” will happen - it’s highly likely there will be trouble having not played each other for so long. There were skirmishes going on the last few times we played them there.

It will be a lot more feisty in the return fixture in January. I have a very good friend who travels everywhere with Leicester, and I've been to a few City games with him (all at their place)> I've had a few narrow squeaks when we've played them (not when I've been with the Leicester mate) and their lot always seem a bit pumped up when they play us. Favourite memory was Dion scoring 2 headers against them (playing at Centre half) - was one of his best ever games imo. I was in a stand full of Leicester with my mate, and when Dion scored, loads were standing up looking around for any celebrating Cov fans - they missed my internal combustions !!)

We Had to drive the wrong way down a 1 way street to get away from about 50 Leicester fans one of the last times we played them .. great times

The fans hate eachother

Already arrangements have been made for pubs to open at 7am, which is more than enough time to get tanked up before the train over. It’s the first time we have played in 10 years which always fuels it.

From previous recent trips the walk to the ground from the Hind to the ground was a bit hairy, but there will be lots (myself included) that want to avoid any escort to the ground.

Can't we have columns of City fans 30 abreast, banners at the front, led by drummers and blokes dressed in black t shirts and shades. with megaphones. Need to get with the times

If the sudden surge in violence on this forum is anything to go by. It's definitely on the increase.

It doesn’t surprise me.

Football clubs pay thousands a year to have a police presence at games, yet when a criminal offence occurs in a ground the police just stand around watching.

If there are no consequences to being a hooligan then it will obviously occur more often
