As far as I'm aware it isn't a legal debt, however it is a contractual one.

How can you expect ACL to deal with people who have at least twice broken their contractual agreements. How can any supplier to CCFC trust them to pay their debts?

I shudder to think what Otium's credit rating is like.

There is a problem in that though for the FL Nick

They could say that certainly but they imposed the £590k condition as part of their insolvency policy. Should it be seen that the policy is nothing more than a set of arbitrary regulations that can be chopped and changed to suit the whim at the time then it calls them in to question. I would guess the likes of HMRC would be very interested in such a resolution should it happen. There is a danger that the whole football creditors rule could be exposed and lost. That has huge implications for football in general and could change things entirely, in much the same way Bosman changed things then this could become the SISU ruling perhaps?

Did the FL not inform ACL that they had an agreement that SISU would pay them? That's three parties in the picture. The FL having been sloppy with players registrations and not being sure themselves who had their golden share. Maybe ACL had something on them which they used to get the league involved.... Strange that the league should be helping ACL,

Yes, the FL had an agreement with Sisu. That doesn't make the FL a third party. Which was my point.

Yes, but. The fl fobbed ACL off saying that SISU would pay. Ml confirmed ACL would be paid. Are you saying that the fl's word is meaningless? Grendel says the fl will now decide how much they will pay. What a joke. A deal is a deal - the creditor and his professional body don't decide how much of the deal now will be honoured. Pay your debts Mark.

The football league are just going to say pay up or it's a ten point deduction.
It's just annoying that after a deadline of May 31st they are going to wait till next month.
If they did it now SISU would pay and talks could begin

Is it right that with the Academy we were about to lose our status so when actually backed into a corner SISU paid their debts and a deal was done.

The fl have a deal with SISU that SISU pay a third party - ACL. I think we can agree on that.

It depends what you call a debt. If someone says to me, you will be paid for whatever reason, then he owes me the money. It may be difficult to enforce though and in this case it depends upon the deal between the fl and OEG.

Why did this happen in the first place? What did ACL have in their hands to put pressure on the league to make it a condition of OEG getting the golden share? Why should the league, in effect, intervene in a commercial dispute between one of it's members and the landlord? and on the landlord's side?

How come no-one noticed the guarantors at the time? I find it hard to believe that SISU had not studied their lease agreement and what would happen should they stop paying.
