Just got in after a few celebratory drinks after work ended up in going for a meal. Can't wait for League One to start and hope we get more than a few seconds of the show.

What a run by Nouble, it started in his own half. A poor man's Weah/Huckerby. Surprised that people haven't made more of a big deal of that goal!

Was a bad error by Burge but you get half-a-dozen like that in L1 every Saturday (and a worse one by Mannone in the Premier League!) and it was his league debut. That coincided with our first win in ages, so he deserves to keep his place for at least a few more games and judge him then. He's young, he's our own, and he can only get better with experience.

Those were excellent goals and very happy with three points, but what was going on with their second!

Pitch Is looking a bit Ropy .

Thought It had recovered ,as I usually view It from a low position.

There still seems to be evidence from that gaming fair there ,and the Ladies are playing on It also .

Have West Broms U21's been using It as well ?

Could be problematic in a couple of months time when the other lot rock up.

Couldn't of put it better myself! Burge is OUR player and should be No1 and it should remain that way. He's young yes,raw yes but I thought his all round display was very promising. His distribution and communication today was far better from what we have seen from Allsop this season. His first league appearance for the lad and would continue to improve and gain confidence the more game time he is given.

tbh I'd prefer we get an experienced number 1, send Allsop back and have Burge as number 2.

At the end, he was trying to kick it one way but out actually went the complete opposite sty

Totally disagree Nick.I know exactly what goal kick you was on about. He mixed it up and did the complete opposite to what Peterboroughs back four were expecting and simeon jackson read what he was thinking and nearly latched onto the end of it with his pace.

Yeah, in an ideal world. Well in an ideal world, we'd still have Murphy. But I dunno if there's any chance of getting an experienced 'keeper in, tbh.

Nice touch to play out with "Sunshine of Your Love" on the day that Jack Bruce sadly passed away. Man, did I love Cream. Clapton was never as good away from them.

We need to get to the byline more often, done it twice this season and scored both times. Both times it was Haynes vs Gillingham and today for the second goal

Weird.

I put it on freeze frame and Burge does actually start to move to his left at first.

It's as if it were deflected, but I don't think it was ....... was it?

Can only assume it really moved in the air dramatically. Burge definitely positioned him self and then moved to the left and was then wrong footed.

All our goals were excellent. Great work by Haynes on 2 of the goals, JOB key in 2 of the goals, Nouble key in 2 as well and a great little pass by Jackson for our second.

We look so much more threatening when we stop the little triangle build ups from the back and we move the ball forwards so much more quickly.

The goal scorer was Maddison. Apparently, swerving free-kicks are something of a trademark. Still, terribly misjudged by Burge.

Yep, even with the swerve he shouldn't have been beaten to a shot that ended up just about in the middle of the goal.

Damn! I didn't get to hear the news Y'day. 'White room', for some reason (probably just because it's a great song) has been an on/off earworm for me for about the last month.

Just about to re-watch yesterday's goals but caught a glimpse of westwood's performance for Sheffield Wednesday, what a keeper! Wasted those 3 years at Sunderland, should really be in the top flight.

We are left with allsop and burge

Can you imagine if it was Allsop that had conceded that? It was a horrendous piece of goalkeeping, he dived past it, it swerving or not (it wasn't deflected) there was little pace on it.

And how disappointing that they didn't mention us in the summing up bit.

I spent almost the entire duration of his run hating him for not passing, stumbling, going nowhere, running too wide, taking a crap sho- oh wait he's scored. Knew you could do it Frank!

Nouble looks like he could be quality ,love his stumbling runs always involved as well. But burge that free kick was shocking a total amateur ,that goal was like you were watching Sunday league or even worse a woman in goal. When can we get a new keeper can we still get loans?

Goalkeepers are going to make mistakes, and fortunately Burges error didn't prove to be too costly. Don't recall him having too much to do apart from maybe one other save near his near post in the second half. I didn't notice any deflection, so if there was any movement it was either due to the pitch or the wind. Either way, keepers shouldn't be conceding like that.

as for the goals, great finish by Haynes, still think Flecky should have shot instead of head it and Nouble should have passed some decent football in the lead up to the goals. Proving what we can do with the ball at our feet.

There were a few that went out of play too easily.

I was shouting PASS so many times during that run. Glad he didn't take any notice (lucky he got the deflection on it though to loop it over the keeper )

Did seem like a bit of a howler from Burge. However, I'm willing to give him a bit more time to prove himself as it was his first league start and he's young. Not making excuses for the mistake as it should be bread and butter, but we won't get a true picture of the lad until he's played a few games. Allsop's been given that chance and hasn't impressed me yet, but maybe losing his place will give him a kick up the backside?

That's another classic alright. They talked about them a bit last night on R5's jukebox show where they select a record each week to add to it (dunno if they got in, had to sleep!). They were talking about how you could really tell that the music was written by a bass player, with that distinctive rumbling tempo.

One of them really reminded me of that brilliant save he made for us against Brum in a televised game. He's been in incredible form this season and was superb against Leeds the other week. I think he's a man with a point to prove as he was actually pretty good for Sunderland whenever he got a chance. Shame he'll be carrying Sheff Wed, though. He's ended up at a club in a similar limbo as we were when he played for us.

He shouldn't have, no, but I can see why he was: on the replay, it looks like it's taken a wicked deflection-it hasn't though, that's just the dip and swerve. Still in the middle of the goal, yes, but it's enough to bamboozle a young 'keeper on his debut and errors like that (and much worse) are made every week in this division. I'm not convinced that Alsop would have done any better. Bottom line, we won a game with Burge in goal and he did make a good save. We haven't won with Alsop in goal for ages. Burge deserves to stay in as part of a winning team, at least.
