Pathetic and no responsibility as usual. Did we expect different? No chance.

They keep saying the Coventry area. Pisses me off as then they say we are working with both parties for a resolution, Cretins.

Simon, you've done well to pad the story out after that 2 sentence 'statement' from our ruling body...

The FA aren't interested. The Football League aren't interested.
About time us City fans realised we have to be more proactive in changing things.
Being nice hasn't served us at all. I'm not advocating violence - of course not - but we have to protest in very visible ways and in numbers.
A march is fine. But I'm talking at games. Peaceful protest. It can be noisy, but peaceful in intent. Pitch sit downs.
Relying on the football authorities is hopeless.
If you want to wait around a few seasons/years while this pans out (and CCFC probably go down the pan) - carry on as we are.
I said it a year ago and got berated for it. I'm saying it again.
If you want to save your club we'll have to go up a few gears.

Always worth going over the background to remind readers, and the FL, of the other points the governing body has failed to address publicly.

It's a pretty half-hearted attempt at responding to fans' concerns - and I think we have a responsibility to underline that and call them out on it.

The only thing that the FL are really interested in are their own members (Otium in this case) and getting the fixtures played. I doubt there is any great pressure from the FL to return to the Ricoh. Contact with both sides would have been about the £590k I would guess. Are they in a position they could side against one of their own members?

I would not place too much faith in FL sorting any of this out ....... certainly do not see them as representing fans in any way

Are they still running with the "real football for real fans" tag?

Could we report them under trade description laws?

When did the FL start using the 'Coventry area' bollocks?

It's another sign that they're on the club's side, not with the fans - the FL is a members' organisation after all.

ideally, they would respond with "as we've declared that our priority is to get Coventry home, we are rescinding permission for the club to play in Northampton, refunding the bond, and insisting on playing home games within the city limits of Coventry - otherwise permission to fulfil fixtures will be withheld." Fat chance of that.

"The Football League will continue with its efforts to resolve what is a complicated and hostile commercial dispute"

Question - Is there a dispute as to whether CCFC can occupy the Ricoh? The fans all want that to happen but there is no legal right for the current CCFC to occupy the Ricoh either as tenant or owner. The lease was terminated/disclaimed by the CCFC Ltd liquidator so no longer exists. There never was an agreed deal signed on the ownership of either ACL or the freehold. Otium never acquired the rights to the lease from CCFC. What in terms of actually returning CCFC to Coventry is being disputed?

What is required is a negotiation on a rent or ownership but if Tim Fishers interviews reflect the views of Seppala that is not going to happen. SISU could decide to enter negotiations on a new arrangement if they wanted to, that's always been the case. It is hard not to conclude that they simply do not want to.

So exactly what dispute are the FL actually putting pressure on to resolve? :thinking about:

The FL is not fit for purpose. Irrespective of the whys and wherfores relating to its member Ccfc they have a much more important remit and that is to the sport itself.
In that regard they are failing to uphold the sporting and competitive traditions of the game and laying the ground for more owners who really should be nowhere near the game.
The FL are so inept and bereft of an ounce of backbone you have to fear for the future health of the game.

its such a shambles at present i can't actually see a method of resolving the situation.intervention from F.L won't happen unfortunately
we as fans now need to stand up and be counted a total ban on six fields would help.all joining the march thats arranged too

Something must be happening behind the scenes - put yourself in ACLs position...you'd be having the club straight back to the judge for contempt of court & monies owed...unless there was a glimmer of resolving the whole sorry mess where they would stand to gain significantly more than the £590k!?

Seems to me as long as any fixture is not cancelled they dont give a flying fook.

Doesnt matter where that game is.

They have a very stand off approach. Not fit for purpose the 31st May deadline shows this.

I can see how the FL might have been scared of SiSUE before, but now they've seen how they batter people in court, their view might change ...

Let's be honest, it's about all we can do. For all the playing Sherlock Holmes meets Jack Baur meet Kofi Annan that Rob and Steve and Michael do, really it's all for naught. The fans need galvanising and organising more than ever this season, apathy is kicking in. The March is a great start, but let's looks for more like the WHY protest at Arsenal for TV games. Hell, even the Why again would at least prompt the question from neutrals "Jeez, weren't you doing this last season too?".

Media attention is all we have to pressure the FL, the media pressure the government, who pressure the FL/FA. It's the only lever I can see.
