did anyone notice that the football league statement never mentioned adminstration ( leading to point deduction ) .. it said it was looking at the rules for liquidation!

the word used specifically was liquidation.. thats not the usual administration scenario is it ? thats the end isnt it ?...

Yes, liquidation normally follows administration.

Perhaps, people will now understand the dangers of the action taken by ACL.

No.

Liquidation means the dissolution of the company by the selling of all assets to pay debts.

Insolvency means you are trading whilst being unable to service your debts.

(In simple terms).

The FL rules deal with insolvency as that covers all types.

Fuck off Grenduffy, you and Torchy twist words like nobody else can When ACL said they were looking at options, one of which was Insolvency/Liquidation the pair of you were accusing ACL of threatening Liquidation. Boot on the other foot now is it?

What else could the directors of ACL have done with their main debtor talking about insolvency?

Offered the club somewhere to play when it was homeless, contributed to the signing of players that may otherwise have gone elsewhere, allowed the club to occupy the ground rent free for a year.

We wouldn't have had a ground at all without them. Oh and they cut the rent by two thirds. And they tried to rid us of SISU and get us half-decent owners. That's just the obvious stuff!

Where would stoke have played without their council? Where would Hull have played without their council? What about Doncaster? What about Ipswich? Brighton anyone?

Your dogmatism in such troubled times does you no favours.

Oh please. They only cut the rent as the club went on strike. That suggests they admit that it's 300% over valued anyway. We should have a refund and we are the only fans who defend a profiteering landlord.

With this attitude we deserve all we get.

Do we fuck. If you were such a fan you wouldn't have spent so long WUMing and sticking up for the parasites that have torn our club asunder.

Everyone forgets that The Championship was a lot more affluent pre-ITV Digital collapse, it was not 300% overvalued and the deal they've offered is cheaper than the shithole Bescott.

When we left Highfield Road under a cloud, they were the only party prepared to offer us an option. An option upon which the rent wasn't mentioned for five seasons.

Comparisons to other clubs circumstances frankly irrelevant

Not strictly true. The Club raised the issue with ACL after THREE MONTHS.

According to Robinson today, there was another option, and they had a back up plan to buy back Highfield Road.

The council saved the stadium project, but they didn't 'save the club' in the way people credit them for.

Is that the club SISU FC or the club CCFC?

CCFC, pre SISU. December 2005.

So it took SISU until post-relegation to decide it was an issue.

The same SISU that renewed David Bell's contract, when his salary is close to half of the rent figure?

If true, and if you can find it with a quick Google, what does that make SISU's due diligence when buying the club?

Did Robinson explain why they didn't exercise the option to return? Sure wish they had...

Indeed.

A lot of people got caught up in the idea that a new stadium would be a fresh start, would increase gates etc and there was a desire to make it happen.

Have to confess, I was in favour of moving back then. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Why? You should just be happy they didn't or the club would have been dead 5 years ago because our lovely council never budge an inch unless pushed.

And if they'd done a decent job we wouldn't be here now would we?

Unless there was always a sub plot to get the stadium on the cheap, of course...

The fact you even mention Walsall without researching their particular dilemma shows your ignorance on this matter.

What year did itv digital fold?

I would have been happier if they'd have negotiated at the time or walked away. ACL have evidenced flexibility in recent months. They could have done so then

I agree.

However I still think similar tactics would have been required.
