But we were ordered to pay the money up until yesterday and it didn't happen.. Why should Sisu get anymore extensions? The rules are there for a reason, what point is their having them if you can't enforce them.

The thing is if they do nothing it's going to piss off other teams especially those who were relegated. I was remembering at work the season where we only survived because of the Boro points deduction and the pitch invasion on the last day was looked at carefully by the authorities. We weren't to blame for the invasion and the club were able to show this and that it was the Leeds fans which was a relief.

I'd rather we weren't in this position as it won't just be the League who get the flack if they don't do anything, it'll be us (the club and supporters) who also are in the firing line. And obviously I'd rather we don't get a points deduction.....or worse.

The FL will make some excuse to not deal with this situation once and for all, they don't have the teeth, guts or desire to stand up to owners of football clubs..A points deduction could be issued and more deadlines put in place, but the pattern emerging is alarming. If not dealt with properly it will only allow the situation to carry on causing more pain for fans which not 1 party involved are considering...

The FL need to look at the amount of times they are discussing the state of our club and act with more than just points deductions. The decline on and off the field should allow them to protect the club instead of prolonging and increasing the damaged caused by the owners.

And some will blame the fans or even the Council, Joe Elliot, The Sky Blue Trust, Jimmy Hill Andy Thorn anyone Barr the culprits Sisu,

So they need to pay up and then we can get on with the new season without having to blame anyone.

Why can't the club issue a simple one paragraph statement on this problem on the website or the FL issue something in the media for us?

Then again it would probably take 5 minutes.

How do we know that the league have delayed themselves the process in view of the £300,000 payment ACL have received? The timing of the rease of the information was interesting was it not?

Sisu are apparently trying to be more open with the fans, they need to do this asap they read these posts so should know that City fans are not very happy.

Here is there chance to try and repair some of the damage they have caused thou there ignorance and invisibility.

We don't as usual we are all making assumptions.
Shame we just can't talk about Football but that is what our owners, coupled with the football league and the council have lead us to.

I don't really care just want our club back where it belongs....

Out of interest, beyond the press statement quoted in the telegraph article, what more do you want them to say?

The Truth, they should have been more open from the beginning. Stop employing spin doctors and just say it as it is.
you were at one of the meetings with myself what did you get out of it except for the loss of 3 hours of your life?

That meeting was indeed a waste of time... so much so in fact I decided not to toddle along to see our glorious leader in Coundon (does this make me a better fan or worse btw, I can never work it out )

In this instance however, their press release does state their position. Could have done without the childish bit about 'could have had the money earlier if not rejecting the CVA' but it does say the money is ready to go, they're not refusing to pay it yadda yadda.

Not a lot else they can say there, really.

I'd like them to apologise, profusely.

I'd like to see them make a public gesture of reconciliation (it is Coventry's thing after all). Be it free scarfs all round or accepting a short term rent deal, anything is better than nothing. And it needs to be a gesture to ALL fans, publicly stated and open to everyone.

I'd like to see them offer to release all accounts and details of transfers of assets around CCFC Ltd, simply to show there is nothing to hide and that they are legitimate custodians of our club.

I'd like to know the full details of the new stadium plans, including but not limited to, full site plans, location of sites, financial arrangements, ownership arrangements.

I'd like to know clearly the funding policy for the team. This is a decision the club have made themselves because they judge it to be the best for the club. Prove it. Allay our very real fears about relegation next season. Show us that they, like us, see us as more than a lower L1 team. Don't talk down my club. You don't get to do that.

I'd like to know the plan for paying off the debt of the club and exactly how much we owe and to who.

I'd like to see the club trying innovative ways to reengage the fanbase. I'd like to see them open a supporters club in the City, family fun days, open training sessions, whatever to increase the presense of CCFC in Coventry while this is going on.

But most of all, I'd like all the words and actions to come out of the club to be congruent with my aspirations for a successful, community oriented, financially stable club. Oh, and don't treat the fans like idiots. Between us we have just as much expertise and understanding than anyone at Sisu (see OSB's financial analysis for example) and all we want is what's best for the club. We can understand tough decisions. We can understand bad luck and business decisions.

I know this might escape you sometimes, but we don't support ACL FC. The question was what should the club do to regain fan trust. It's comments like that that make people think that some are rabidly pro-Sisu. It's OK to talk about CCFC on a CCFC forum without comparing it to how ACL would've done it.

To clarify: ACL do not have a relationship to manage with us. Our only relationship with them comes through the club. The club DO have a relationship to manage, arguably it's their entire business model is managing their relationship with us. Ergo we have a right to different expectations. Also known as "I don't care what Tommy's parents let him do!".

Maybe they are just to keep moral up at ACL.

I can only think they are singing "Two Princes" on loop.

Sorry Shmmeee but it is wholly relevant, especially when there are already a number of posts on here and the forum as a whole stating that sisu are losing the PR war, so if ACL and their spin doctors aren't relevant who are they warring with?

And incidentally this is a thread about the payment or non payment to ACL, so again I maintain mentioning ACL is relevant.

It's not relevant to this discussion though. This isn't a zero sum game, we can discuss the club without dragging ACL into it. Stating that we'd like the club to stop using spin doctors when talking to the fans implies no comment on ACL's use thereof.

I felt it was relevant, in a thread about the non payment to ACL. Why do you feel the need to jump on any slightly anti-ACL post? I hardly slagged them off just mentioned they that also employ a spin doctor.

They're 100% responsible for us not coming back.

You can argue the blame game all you like for the circumstances that we left under but only one party is stopping us returning and they've said as much themselves.

Surely all fans want us back so we all should be blaming sisu 100%.

The timing was interesting as was the fact that the Telegraph only got involved via a chap in the canteen where Bennetts Afro works. Was it Bennett's Afro's friends that previously sent him SISU's court arguments?

It's good that he posts here, the more info the better.

Nothing is ever straight forward with SISU, but it is always someone else's fault, never their fault, obviously.

You say it like you enjoy this, well I'm glad you do. You know full well it wasn't just a passing comment and to try and pass it off as one is just taking the piss. There has been some good points raised on this thread and the mention of PR in relation to Sisu on this was how they could play things a lot better and be truthful. So i'm really not sure why you felt the need to bring up Weber Shandwick and ACL other than, well as you put it to go round and round like this is something we need to do again.

It's sisu's merry go round my friend. Only one party has moved position in trying to get us back if only on a temporary deal. The other has only ever said that they can't forgive, despite the apparent Christian beliefs of the top dog.

So what are you saying exactly? You're not a Cov fan? You are happy for the club to stay at suxfields? You don't care what happens to the club as long as you can do some council bashing?

The truth is somewhere in the middle.

The only people that want us to be in Northampton are anyone to do with who is getting money for us being there.

CCC don't want us there. ACL don't want us there. Us supporters don't want us there. All of these are for obvious reasons. SISU don't want us there either. But we are there for a reason. It is a bargaining tool to get the Ricoh. And cheaply. It is costing SISU's investors millions each year. The debt may be going on our club but their investors still own our club. For SISU to get a big payday they need to make money for them. SISU have nothing to lose other than their reputation. They have plenty to gain.

SISU have put so much money and effort into getting the Ricoh on the cheap that it would be a disaster for them to now give up and take a rental agreement however cheap the rental agreement is. So it all comes down to if they can get the freehold or not. This is why they are now talking to us. They want and need our backing. But they are not coming out with anything new. Same old crap in other words. They want us to give CCC lots of grief until they get what they want. This would be on top of all the litigation that they continue with.

If they want my backing they will need to completely change. This would include trying negotiations and being more clear on their plans for our club. Can't see this happening. So I can't see them getting my backing. But to some this makes me an ACL lover  I want what is best for my club. But I would take long term security over a short term benefit of being back at the Ricoh any day. The SISU plan seems to be a short term financial loss for their investors to make a gain from as we stand. We also don't have a clue what their future plans are for our club so how could anyone give them their backing and have confidence that it will help our club?
