A football/fun day away from the Ricoh would be a good event for the Trust to arrange. Having it at the Ricoh is throwing your support to ACL/Council, which doesn’t sit right with a large section of support and so you might not get the full support of the fans
which doesn’t sit right with a large section of support ??? Really... Interesting, please tell us where you got that information from?

Dal - it is true that there is certainly a perceived reluctance from the council and ACL , to enable a successful ccfc at the ricoh
Edgy, you used to be a decent poster. You can't blame all this shit on the council/ACL for the small part they have played in this disaster. They made a deal that helped their company, it was agreed and adhered to for some time. When challenged they reduced the terms dramatically to help out. In the meantime SISU have tore the club limb from limb leaving it valueless as every good hedge fund does when its out to strip down assets. Blamewise you are looking at 90% SISU and 10% ACL and most of the fans acknowledge this !!
Maybe you have a point ... but like I said why should setting up a fun day at the Ricoh mean they are taking sides... 50% of the Ricoh (ACL/CCC) is owned by the rate payers and they have every right to use it. I can't see ACL having any rights to object the local community ... if they do, they will need to be reminded of this be it by votes or protests.
what about on the green in the middle of the houses at Highfield road
Edgy, you used to be a decent poster.
Until you said things I didn't like!!!!!
Ash, I'm not arguing any of that. Apart from the percentages in your last statement where you seem to have missed out, Richardson, McGinity & Co!
I just will not accept how some place the whole problem at SISU's door. Yes, they have fucked up but there are others who have contributed to the mess and they should'nt escape scrutiny and blame.
I think if folk can accept this than as a group of fans we can move forward together and stop bickering. That's the stance of most on GMK. We all want a better club but for that to truely happen, all those responsible for the mess (no matter how small) have to be held accounbtable.
Yes, that bit made me laugh too.
"...until you said things I disagree with. You'll be a decent poster again if you agree with me though..."
Should all local council tax payers get a discount for using any facility at The Ricoh? Be it going to the football or watching Bruce Springsteen?
Also should maybe get free use of conference rooms etc.
People bang on about it being a "community resource" there should be more tangible benefits to the community such as the above.
My idea for a protest. Tournament at the Ricoh for kids football, could use the pitch or the exhibition hall. Sky Blue Trust out in force - selling their message positive propaganda using the Ricoh for what it was intended for - football !! try to get in some football celebs to back it - the former players association, is Jimmy Hill too ill but that would be a major coup.
Invite a team from Walsall etc..
I'm sure ACL would support it. Its only a basic idea but there is no risk of violence etc.. like a protest if hijacked by the lunatic fringe. Just an idea.

Didn't the club sell its rights to matchday revenue?£1.3 million a year rent with NO OTHER INCOME STREAMS....Sorry ACL/CCC are not blameless by a long chalk IMO.

forget the rights and wrongs of the F&B that is another area where I believe the club has been shafted...£1.3 Million in rent for a Championship Club 52 weeks of the year, full business rates NO OTHER Income? again I do not support SISU they have made too many mistakes, but so have ACL/CCC. CCC using public aid to re finance a loan for a private company is one of them.
1) CCFC agreed to the value of rent and then did nothing for 5 years afterwards.
2) ACL agreed to reduce the figure to £400k, a drop of 67%, which is pretty generous. So overcharging in the first place?
3) CCFC sold rights to F&B as they couldn't afford stadium build, hardly ACL's fault. Then tried to sell them back to club for £24 million?
4) CCC using public aid to help a private firm? Hardly private as they own 50% of it. They are a PRIVATE firm, therefore they should not of lent them money.
