Interesting article I read a week or so back regarding local authority involvement with football clubs.

Sobering reading for SISU and anyone else who thinks the council should either give the stadium over to CCFC for free, or give them overly favourable tenancy agreements.
Wonder if acting as a guarantor on the loan a financial institution makes to a club could land a local authority in hot water. Might affect Nottingham City Council and Nottingham Forest Football Club in that case, if the 10 years are counted as from the end of the deal.
In general terms, the rules are broken only when a public body acts in a way a private investor would not: so a fixed-term loan to a club at commercial rates is fine
It'd explain why talks break down if they get their cues from this place. They'd just call anyone not toeing the line a bumlicking apologist in a really shouty voice.
