Daughter is buying me FM12 for X Mas and having last played FM on the 1999 version is the FM 12 a tad long winded ?

I base this on the user reviews I have seen whereby there appears to be that much preparation prior to each match compared to 1999.

A simple question: how long (very approximately) does it take to play a fixture say half way through the season from preparation to end of game ?

1999 version took between 5-10 minutes as I recall.

ALSO: I have a DELL PC with 0.75 RAM - is this capable of running FM12 reasonably well ?

0.75 RAM? Is that possible?

Sorry but should have said 512 mb original + additional 238 mb = 750 mb total or 0.75 gb - I think that's right unless I've mixed up my megas with my gigas.

It's taken me just over 24 hours of game time to play a full season and the following pre-season. The game-play is so much better than it used to be, well worth the 20 quid or whatever it costs! Just make sure your PC can handle it

Your RAM should be the same size and same make/model. Surprised they work together.. Go to crucial.com and scan your pc/laptop and it will tell you what you can upgrade to and what you currently have, they are usually the cheapest too! I'd recommend at least 2 Gb of RAM (2 x 1Gb sticks)

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx - Type in Football Manager 2012

Minimum requirements it says is 512mb for xp and a gig for vista/7. I know with four gigs on vista its still rather sluggish when i've a huge library and about eight leagues going so you'll probably only be able to run a rather small library.

Its worth it though, fun game and a game that you can just pick up and play for an hour or a week. Its as technical as you want it to be (i.e you can just ask your assistant manager to pick the team or you can sort it out yourself each match).

All I am going to run is one league only and try to do what AT is not doing ie stopping up - would lack of RAM slow even that one application to make it unenjoyable/impractical ???

Is it a laptop or PC? Would be easier to add more RAM if it will take it!

Don't be Cov. Have next to no transfer budget.

I am Oxford, actually hammered Cov in the first round of the league cup. Got promoted in the first season, just started my second season in L1.

PC

I have already had additional RAM inserted to get me from 512mb to 750mb

Is the limitation for even more RAM depend on physical space under the cover or the capacity of the model ???

A lot of fun if you're bored is to rig the database-there's nothing quite like watching the likes of Chelsea plummet into the BSP, going into admin every season

I have FM12. Just tried to install FM2008 on my laptop and it didn't work. Does this have anything to do with my laptop running Windows 7? Also, i somehow changed everything to open with Media Player, how do i change it back?

Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs > Set File Associations

That should let you change them individually.

Just noted that Steam are offering FM12 for £7.99 for the next two days only. That's a bargain if you want it.....

I'm not that fussed to be honest - it seems a little over-complicated to me, so I'll stick with FM11 until the next one comes out.
