Just got back from the Ricoh and even though the writing's been on the wall for some time it really sank in at the final whistle. SISU and Thorn have a lot to answer for!!!

Was McSheffrey even bothered today...absolutely shambolic display?

I've been a season ticket holder for 18 years but I just don't know if I can stomach watching us play at Stockport and Oldham.

To make matters worse my hubby is a Bristol fan, so obviously he's elated. Feel a bit numb, going to skip dinner and have just desserts and open up a bottle of 1977 Spanish Pudrete to try and make it a little more tolerable.

Flexiones en barra!!

We've played at stockport and oldham when they we're at a higher level and over so it's only good manners that we turn up and show them the respect they deserve, these games are gonna be tough, division 3 ain't gonna be easy.

I would say that Div.3 will be harder to get out of than staying in the Championship

I guess you mean harder to get out of by being promoted.

If SISU run us in the same way as this year, we may find it easy to get out of the Division - what's Division 4 like?

Enjoy the 1977 Pudrete. 1977 was a very good year. Not many people remember this but that year we came perilously close to relegation from the old first division and it all came down to the last match. One from us, Bristol City and Sunderland would go down. We played at home against Bristol and Sunderland were away to Everton. About 38,000 turned up including about 15,000 from Bristol and kick off was delayed by 15 minutes, something that did happen in days when people just turned up without tickets and queued at the turnstiles. Sunderland lost away and as the score at Highfield Road was 2-2 that meant that if things stayed that way Cov and Bristol survived. Weirdly neither side wanted to risk going for a winner and conceding so the game petered out over the last few minutes once the players had seen the Everton result flashed up on the scoreboard. I was there.

Sunderland would never have acted in that way, obviously. They would probably have deliberately scored an own goal rather than see us get relegated. They quite fairly consider it was not only the height of foul play but something they should nurse as a grievance for 35 years. If they were alive in 1977 then they should grow up a bit and get over it. If they weren't then they should shut the fook up about something they know sod all about. Maybe the fact that they've been left completely in Newcastle's shadow has finally sent them over the top and they now need to find some rivalry that they feel more confident about, ie us.

We might be in League 1 but at least we don't live in Sunderland.
