“I don’t know what the future is going to hold.
“But at the moment I’m at a good club, a big club, and I’m enjoying it.
“We’ll see what happens with my contract and if there are other options.”

Standard footballer soundbite really. I think if we are still in League 1 next season he'll want to move on for his career's sake. If we go up I don't see why he wouldn't stay - with his family being settled in the area and all that jazz.

I think it's fair enough if he moves on if we don't get promoted this season. He is definitely Championship quality.

I'd love to keep him if we didn't manage promo - but agreed.

Interesting that he might be staying with us to the end of the season and the club aren't cashing in on him this window.

I'm sure he'll be off though...promotion might be the only way he'll stay but I think he's off.

If we got promoted why would anyone want to leave?

To get more money or go to a more successful club.

But he'd be doing that now...not later!! There's little more successful than a newly promoted club!

There'd be at least 30 clubs in England, let alone the world, more successful than us, and better off than us.

Agreed...but in reality his option would probably only be to move to another, more long established Championship club...in which case, why move form a club with momentum!

There is momentum, trouble is it is in the wrong direction at the moment

Gut feeling, if we are promoted he will stay, if we are not promoted he will go to a Championship club (or even back to Rangers, doubt he would go to Celtic).

Might be something in this as BBC says...
Midfielders Ryan Williams and Josh Laurent and striker Montell Moore are all looking for new clubs after Brentford cancelled their contracts by mutual consent.

Having trimmed the wage bill, does this mean the Bees will now add to their squad as deadline day progresses?

He has already said that he took a paycut to come here so money is not the driving factor. A promoted club would be a successful one...

I think we all realise that if we don't go up this year, he is off. No hard feelings from me if that happened either - unlike the likes of Moussa who engineered their move away without putting in the effort the shirt deserved.

Not as successful as a midtable Championship club with more money and better players than us.
