Fleck Injury Doubt for Saturday

What is happening to our players at Ryton?

Will he put Finch in to sit in front of the back 4? I think he should drop Thomas back to sit in front of the 4 and put Coulibaly or however you spell is name in to push on.

Finch is suspended, and no matter how many injuries we get he'll somehow find a way of playing 5-3-2

So our best defender, midfielder and forward could all be missing. I think it could be a long afternoon.

Ah forgot about Finch. He will probably play Thomas there.

The other option is Thomas and JOB in the middle, Coulibaly on the right and Haynes on the left.

Is it possible he's lost the dressing room and some players just don't want to play? He's got a reputation for falling out with players and the last two home league "performances" hardly looked like a team who wanted to play in my opinion

Sorry didn't see this thread.

No way Pressley will drop 3-5-2. I think the team will be:

Alsopp

Phillips

Webster
Willis
Clarke

Haynes

Couliably
O'Brien
Thomas

Jackson
McQuoid

If we were in Bristol's position, top of the league, taking a load of support to a team on a bad run with lots of injuries, you know full well we would lose. That's why I'm confident of a home win.

Sometimes the odd injury is a blessing in disguise. Fleck, Thomas and o'brien are too similar, and we've become too predicable in part to the fact everything has to go through fleck.

Although we may well get beaten on Saturday, i watched the U21s at QPR last night on U tube - we played some cracking stuff - the future looks bright re players coming through (unless we flog 'em all!)

Don't worry about that formation. With our injuries we'll be playing 2-2-1

Depends who you play. Pin 2 wingers on the wing backs like preston did then it soon becomes 532.

In Barton we have a hidden gem. His performance playing out of position (Centre Half) last night for the under 21s was instrumental
in our lads gaining their 1st win of the season. He finally looks to have shaken off the devastating injury that nearly ruined his career.

Hopefully he will get his chance in the 1st team now.

Not wanting to be on a downer, but it was only in the U21's which is pretty much reserve football level.

Barton has been here for 2 1/2 years, he's hardly a hidden gem.

Barton had a career threatening injury that destroyed his confidence, If his performance last night against the unbeaten table topping QPR
is anything to go by he is on his way back.

I think against Bristol I actually might be defensive and play 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 whichever way you look at it.

Assuming people are injured would line up.

Allsopp
Phillips rwb
Pugh lwb
Willis cb
Webster cb
J.Clarke cb
Thomas mid
O'Brien mid
Maddison mid
mcquoid cf
Jackson cf

Subs: Burge, Pugh, Haynes, Barton, Coubillay, Miller, Tudgay

Hasn't Pugh spent most of his career In midfield ,couldn't we accommodate him there ?

Could do sling him in for Maddison and put Haynes left wing back I suppose, Maddison on bench......would not mind Maddison or Barton getting some game time Saturday though.

Our midfield is slow and pedestrian enough as it is, Pugh would just make it worse. I'd like to see one of Coulibaly or Maddison to give the midfield an attacking edge, I'd start with Coulibaly and maybe have Maddison on the bench.

Doubt it, didn't even get a game in the JPT. I'd be very surprised if he makes an appearance this season, my guess is that we'll offload him in jan. Plenty of players have had career threatening leg breaks and have managed to hit some form a lot quicker than 2 1/2 years.

I don't care if QPR are top of the table or not, U21's is not a great standard, watched Akpom destroy Villa's U21, yet looked completely out of his depth on our first team.

We'll be lucky to get rid of Barton in January, we will be stuck with him until his contract is finished imo.

I think he's been referred to as a Wanna Be Rock Star .

I do hope he's made the best of his free time and he's picked up Bert Weedons "Play In a week " manual as he's heading for the X Factor after us IMO.

Yeah, I remember some preston fans saying he love music and his band than playing football.

You're probably right. He certainly isn't going to get a contract here.

I'm predicting either a shock win or a shock draw. Somehow we always up out game against the top teams.
