Reading the Wembley website I see that they restrict the size of flags that be taken in to just over 8 ft wide. Has anybody ever been to a match at the stadium (possibly an England game) and seen people having larger flags taken off them. We have a flag that is 12ft X 6ft. What is the chance of getting that in ?

Possibly a question that CJ can answer.

Fold in 2 with light stitching, it's now 6x6. Unpick when you're in and hey presto.

They have marks on the wall at some of the entrances and check the size against those sometimes. My current one which is 12x6ft has got in fine but I think it's technically too big. My first one which is 15x8ft was never allowed in. Only other grounds that have taken that stance are Rotherham, Shef U, Donetsk and Ljubljana (had to leave it outside on the street). It's rare a ground will say they aren't allowed tbh.

Best advice is take it anyway. Take your fire certificate or if it doesn't have one take it to the fire station and they'll give you one (a tenner I think). If you're not allowed in with it Wembley will either store it securely or you could try to find someone that has a hotel room, coach or car nearby that'll lock it away for you.

Something that should be noted is in the lower tier the way how the barrier at the front of the seating is designed means it can't hang vertically very easily. In the upper it also can't hang below the line of the advertising boards. At the Scotland game a steward helped me put ours out. However during the first half another steward untied it (it hadnt dropped but it was hanging too low apparently) and left it on the floor which meant everyone walked on it at half time.

I'll have a look when we get to Wembley but, but remember,you will have to show your pole to the stewards on the door and if it's over a meter in length you'll have to enter the ground without it.

I've seen some Wembley merchandise sellers in broadgate - flags , scarves and those funny hats with bells on.
Another bloke at the Daventry Road shops on Cheylesmore is selling scarves for £7 - a whole pound cheaper than in the precinct. Bloody bargain. Especially after your bus fare.

Got ours done through them too. They're the best at what they do. Can't go wrong.

I have kept Barmy flags in business over the years. These 3 flags all came from them and the 'PUSB' one had to be replaced a couple of years back after being stolen from the hill at Northampton during the Wolves game. The quality is great and will last forever (providing they do not go missing). We are hoping to take them all to Wembley. I have been planning to get another for a while now but the design that I want will cost a fortune.

Wembley are VERY strict about flags and you should note the following to get your flag in;
"Flags MUST have an English St George cross on them and preferably accompanied by some vaguely EDL imagery or slog

I have a 9ft flag planning on taking, and knowing a firefighter in Coventry I asked him to find out about fire certificate, he asked their chief of safety and was told they never heard of such a ridicules thing

Who in their right mind would steal your flag? Not like you can use it anywhere it won't be noticed.

And from Northampton too?!?

I have looked on their website and can't see any mention of that at all.

Is it in the small print?
