If it is true that Ben Turner is joining us on loan then will give us six loanees

Armstrong, Murphy, Kent, Bigi, Cole and Turner.

Must mean Cole not staying beyond this weekend or having his AV contract torn up and offered short term deal with us.

Or, it means it's bullshit about Turner.

I think you can have more but only 5 on the team sheet including reserves

I wouldn't think we could afford to spend money on loanees who don't make the squad.

He went a couple of weeks ago.

Can't see Cole staying ahead of another loanee, so he'll either come here permanently or go back to Villa I reckon. It'd only be this weekend we'd have a problem assuming Turner comes in.

Yep, think Cole is finished. Can't see him playing Saturday ahead of Murphy, JOB, Armstrong or Lameries.

you can have 8 loanees, just only 5 in the squad on a matchday.

These recent loans, and that includes Turner if he comes, are 'big' names for us and TM is hoping they get bums on seats to increase attendance and have a bigger budget

With all respect, Turner and bigirama aren't big names.

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is what we need.

with respect they are for the 3rd division
a couple of years ago Bigi was starring in the europa league and premier league, and turner in the capital one cup final. Neither are past it - just been injured
if we have both - opposing teams will shit them selves when they see our line up

With all the loanees this must be the best squad since relegation and apart from Wigan best squad in League 1. Just need the great Coventry public to support now.

sounds like bigi and cole could possibly join perm in jan, defo bigi anyway

so it would only be surplus of loans for 6 weeks

Bigi has not played first team football for nearly 3 years... That's worrying.

Thats just broke the camels back - Coventry public - you know it would be better that they did'nt all turn up as the car park will be full and we don't have a great record of hyping a game up them winning it

If it were just the loyal fans then we are responsible for the support not the glory fans

Think you can have a maximum of 5 loan players on the team sheet on a match-day and as many as you want on the clubs books.

Relevant section from the Football Leagues rules below:

52.2.1 A maximum of 5 loan Players (Standard, International, Emergency or Youth) can be named in the Players listed on a team sheet for any individual match played under the auspices of The League. This figure shall include any additional loan of a goalkeeper approved by The League under the provisions of Regulation 54.

Makes sense to me to have the 5 loanees in the squad (assuming Cole fit) or 5 of the 6 if turner arrives. Having Biggi is good for cover if/when fleck and Vincelot injured or suspended. Turner if he comes makes a real statement re our intention and in moving ricketts to full back gives us a solid looking back line

Clubs like Newcastle expect their loanees to play for either experience or to put them in the shop window. They don`t want them sitting on the bench or even worse in the stands. That is why Middlesboro recalled Morris.

Can't see TM guaranteeing game time. Although he's got another year on his contact maybe they are looking to terminate in January and he's expressed a preference to come here?

Think his chance to break through and Newcastle has been and gone.

So with the news Cole is likely to stay and Turner arriving shortly its going to be interesting to see how Mowbray juggles it. Is Bigirimana even going to get in the squad?

Cole and Bigi, both lacking match fitness (well one confirmed to be lacking that is......) will probably alternate I suspect

Not sure. I was perhaps thinking of his time at rangers when he went but got no play time. Was that last season? Maybe I'm thinking too far back.

When we were having a rubbish pre-season did anyone think at this stage of the season we'd be talking about rotating Joe Cole and Bigi?!
