did our lack of overall fitness nearly lose us the game today. i thought a few of our players didnt look as fit as they perhaps could be, namely jennings, barton and ball. as the game went on bury seem to be a lot fitter and had a bit of zip about them and as a result created and wasted several efforts towards the end.

Barton and Jennings definitely did look very tired towards the end.
But Barton hasn't played many games and Jennings was out for chunks of the pre-season which didn't help.

I'm not sure fitness is the problem, rather the desire from the players to keep playing to their best and closing out games. Most of the players (especially Mcdonald, Baker and Kilbane) just seemed to give up in the second half and suprise, suprise we conceded two goals.
Somehow we need to get the players to realise they have to try for 90 minutes (obviously the new bonus package isnt working so maybe unless they try for 90 minutes they only get half wages???)

Get used to it skyblueswiss. Thorn is a failure who will drag us into depths we cannot imagine. I understand your frustration as his bungling ineptitude lets us down again.

Actually I make no apologies. I am right, thorn is leading this club to oblivion. You may believe that is ok I dont.

It doesn't matter how long you've trained for, two games in 4 days is always going to take it's toll.

Exactly, and they were poor all round. We conceded two from individual mistakes.

Fitness cannot be used as an excuse if the opposition were similarly handicapped.

Barton is not fit enough at present to play beyond seventy minutes ,and it is definately costing us down the right hand side.
