Fitness tests (1 Viewer)

Looks like Jutkiewicz and Sheffers picked up knocks yesterday. Must admit, Juke did look knackered and I was surprised he lasted the whole 90 mins.

If either fail their fitness tests, what do you think Thorn will do? Play one up front (the one fit one out of the two - unless they both fail)?? Play Jeffers in place of one of them?

Could see Juke on his own. Not Sheffers though. What sort of striker is Jeffers?

Not Jeffers no.

From what I hear he's nowhere near good enough for this level.

Think if Juke and Sheff are injured and everyone else is out (Platt, McDonald) it would be Baker up front by himself.

Ive never rated Jeffers and was surprised when he got his new contract in the summer (ibe since learnt that with SISU that aslong as you list 'footballer' as a profession on your CV, ita safe to assume your'll get a contact ) but I think he'd be our only alternative. Would worry if we were to rely on him V West Ham though.

We do of course have other youmg strikers but I only mentioned him as hes been on the bench so seems to be the most likely player to be considered.

I wouldnt personally like to see Baker as a striker. Especially not a lone striker!

I don't think we should be writing off Jeffers just yet - he is only 19 and players develop at different ages and rates. We dismiss players far too early in their careers, I remember listening to Steve Cotterill talking about german football and they keep academy kids until their 22, whereas we make judgements at 16 and 18 and then bin them off.

Thanks for that. AT will want to make as few changes as possible. If only one of Juke & Sheff is out, he'll probably pick Jeffers in their place. If both are out, he'll probably ask for volunteers!

Well in case he does, im happy to volunteer! And if im crap (which i will be, my fitness levels are the worst of the worst), atleast I can use the usual strikers excuse of 'i've not had a proper pre season'

he must show something in training, as we've not been afraid to throw kids in straight from academy level and the strikers there (Daniels & Clarke-Harris?) are doing well.

Billy daniels and clarke harris are looking the better.
Clarke-harris, looks superb and is currently firing in goals for the youth week in week out.
He's quick and I think he's about 6ft.
Would love to see him towards the end of the season/pre season.

As for wilson and jeffers 2 players I have seen a couple of times in pre seasons.
Both played very well at hinckley and showing they had talent.
Wouldn't mind seeing jeffers come on for 5 minutes one game.
I reckon if we had bagged a 3rd goal on saturday, jeffers would have made a appearance.

clarke-harris and daniels a both to young and youth is so so diffrent it doesn't come near to the level in the championship
