With a lot of the championship paying 10+ games to end the last season pretty close to the start of the 20-21 season, the players were much fitter than us in the first period of games this season. Would this potentially mean in the final quarter of the season the championship clubs would be burning out having played so much competitive football relatively close together? This could play into our advantage?

I wouldn’t think so, clubs at this level have large squads and can put in another player without much of a drop in quality.

A team like us have to rush back our best players and we’ve already seen the repercussions

I think we will have a better second half to the season than the 1st half will end up being

Surely we should be gaining fitness as other teams tail off with the long pre season we had compared to others still playing

Never thought of that. Could be a bit of logic there but the 5 subs thing will minimise it a bit.

Agree the 5 subs is game changer and will help manage fatigue in players. That's a huge difference.
