Hope this proves you wrong Rusty. Although your words are shrewdly put, I think you'll find he says part ownership in the Ricoh. http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/what-next-sisu-v-coventry-7363893

Sorry if I'm missing your point here, but I can't see anything about the building in the linked story.

Skybluekid.

Not a word in any of the positive threads or football related threads over the last couple of days but all over it in here. Pathetic. You are too far gone mate.

@ Mattylad......Someone else being sucked in by SISU. The "Mouthpiece for SISU" has said a few years ago that the break even attendance is 22k in the Championship. If SISU managed CCFC properly, they could very well have been getting well in excess of that figure every home game. Gillingham game proves this.

That 22K figure may have been true on the basis of the old rental contract, but that is now dead & buried so can we stop mentioning it.

Unfortunately the reality won't become clear till Sky Blue Sports & Leisure accounts become available end Feb 2016, showing this seasons figures.

Also the 22k attendance break even figure isn't just to cover the rent cost, it was mainly wages. If you use the £10 average ticket figure which I believe to be correct, then the crowd needed to be 5,200 each game to cover the rent.

5,200 was still too many, but as you say that was an old deal that will never be seen again.

I'm not as certain about that as you. I think that now costs have been reduced, and income increased, they may well be able to pay themselves some of that interest they've been accruing.

I think you will find that some investors have lost patience others are worried about other investments,ie a lot of money has been lost here and the money now being made is not enough.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks then.

Talking of rumours and leaks of information Bennett's Afro doesn't seem to post much these days.

Potato Pot-ah-to.

The difference between a long leasehold and a freehold is virtually nothing. Get ACL and you get the building essentially.

Ok, that may or may not be the case, but going the other way around which is what Fisher is talking about doesn't work.

If you get the building you don't get the lease. He talks of owning the stadium, not ACL.

As I've said a few times before on here, could that be sisus starting position when in fact the leasehold/ownership of ACL might be a satisfactory outcome?

@ Samo....You say you make balanced posts, but then like a child ask..."What are SISU's real intentions"...and "Do they really want promotion"....and saying they "Can't afford the rent in the Championship" I would have thought relegation without a fight, and 3 years of being in the worst ever position for over 50 years should be screaming the answer at you. My hatred for SISU has no bounds knowing what they do and how they do it before they even took control of CCFC. When they did (Take control) I said it will only end in tears, and predicted possible Non league football, or worse......and lastly @ Mr pisstaker hill83....Read what I've said to Samo.

You could well be right, there's enough bluff to make Robert Robinson want to come back from the grave and judge it all.

I'd have thought Higgs would want at least as much as they thought they'd agreed to sell for last time though, and it doesn't give SISU as much return on their investors money as I would think is required, but obviously I'm only guessing.

Could you please refrain from blatantly misquoting me? My OP was in relation to particular remarks made by Mr. Fisher which I thought were worthy of note and discussion, my overall view has not changed. I am of course wasting my time, god knows why, even bothering to respond to more of your usual drivel. Seriously SBK, this is all a little above you, why not find a better use for your time.... you could do a recount on those suits? Or perhaps there's a park nearby with a swing?

Sorry just got back from Sainsburys the answer to your question is I dont know just what we've been told remember we told you Labo was going Sisu leaving we were told at the same time. What I do know is that more pressure is being put on Sisu for example article published by the biggest publishers in Finland. I would love to tell you what it said but its in Finnish:facepalm: but trying to get it translated. More pressure middle of October when a documentary is aired. For someone who doesn't like publicity our Joy has certainly gone about things the right way to ensure she gets loads and so far none of it good:claping hands:

A Finnish article?
How damaging can that be to sisu who have a small office in the UK and do their business through the Caymans?
I just wonder.

Having said that - sisu could well be leaving. Remember the long term debts suddenly turned short term? Expiring in December.
But who do you think they will hand over the shares to?
ARVO perhaps?

Consider the fact that the name Seppala in Finland is associated with money. The richest people in Finland are Seppalas and much is made of Joys' Finnish connections. You're right small office in UK but no office in Cayman Islands.

Fisher sounded even worse when you put it into the context of the whole interview. He was on with Waggott. Started off with Waggott being asked about his new role etc. He said his job now was to have a successful team, used his 60p in the £ goes to the team line again (although to be fair he did say this was his over simplistic method of explaining FFP). Took the blame for any ticketing problems, saying he made the call to come back ASAP rather than waiting for everything to be perfectly in place. He praised ACL for getting things sorted so quickly and spoke of building a better relationship after agreeing the deal.

Then to Fisher. He started off by saying he had been moved to a new position as he had achieved everything he had been asked to do! Clive pointed out that all their statements now said own the ground rather than build a ground and he insisted they were still building a new ground. Had a go at the council and Higgs saying they would never sell (isn't that contradicting what they have said?). Then his latest claim for not having purchased any land yet is that they have secured a site but the seller won't complete the deal until the JR issue is resolved! I've never heard of anyone selling land, property or anything else for that matter taking that stance. If you can pay for it they sell it to you!

There was a noticeable pause before he answered every question, it was as if he was thinking about what BS to come out with. They need to get rid of him, he's likely to cause more harm than good.

Well whatever is happening their is a clear change of strategy, after all Tim 'we do not posture' once said 'we will never play in Coventry again'

Coventry City say they will never play in Coventry again and are pressing ahead with plans to build a new stadium near the city.
:
But Fisher said: “People have to understand we do not posture, we do not threaten, because that is not how you do business, you only do business in good faith. Always.

'I also said that we would build a new stadium. So, while I understand the emotions - absolutely - I don't understand the surprise.

'You cannot posture or mislead in a situation like this. It would be insane.
:
'And so, regrettably, Coventry City Football Club will be sharing with Northampton Town for the next three seasons, minimum.

It does seem that the club have now got everything that they asked for, that ACL wouldn't give under any circumstances before.

Makes you wonder why they couldn't have agreed the current deal back in March 2013.

So, the club was asking for a deal that isn't viable in the Championship?

Well the club wanted much reduced rent, combined with access to match=day f@B, short-term rental deal, and an independent mediator back then

All of which was rejected out of hand at the time by ACL, yet now(apparently) all of those things are agreed between them now.

And boy did it cost them. Share issues, 2 sets of legal bills, the many many forms of lost revenue not to mention the emotional price they made us all pay. Probably have been cheaper and easier to commit to the rent deal Fisher shook on only for Joy to spit the dummy.
