I'd just like to say how proud I was at the lowly 1,789 attendance for the Colchester game. We have shown resolve for an issue that transcends a short-term urge to watch the team play.

Mr Fisher expected most of us to have crawled back by now but I think the message is loud and clear with SP and most of the media noting our absence despite the entertainment on offer.

The NOPM campaign is looking strong. Keep it up.

Did the attendance make you more proud than the actual score though? Some people I have seen just comment on the attendance and not the actual football being played.

Agree.
Personally Tim Fisher is a barrier for me regardless what stadium we are at. He is so pompous and looks down on fans as garbage.

At the moment I put the score first but this will change if this mess drags on and a stadium is initiated.

So you think you will be more bothered about the attendance than the result on the pitch? Genius!!!!

What's the gate?

How many Cov fans were there?

Who gives a fuck? 'Look at me, look at me, NOPM I'm not going Northampton' - like that bloke on the FLS show the other week, climbs off the club run official coach and starts going on about NOPM.

I don't agree with Tim Fisher's cockiness when saying that people will all come back by the 3rd game (What was the actual quote?) or the customer service / PR that has been shown throughout but after all it is about a football club and when people care more about attendances / protests / massaging egos about how big a fan they are more than the result at the end of each game then it is shocking.

I think "some" just like the protest / outrage / hard done by bandwagon.

'Mong' eh-- where's Nick Im sure he will have a quiet word with you,err...

Of course most everyone is interested in attendances at the moment, to suggest otherwise is totally naive.

I'm not. I find it quite depressing that they're playing outside of Coventry in front of sub 2k crowds. Others on here seem to revel in it.

Give it up Nick. This thread isn't about picking at opposing fans.

Really? I couldn't care if we played in front of 10 or 55,000 as long as we won. Obviously a high attendance at a nice big ground would give a great atmosphere but would much rather a win.

What are you on about? I am asking if the attendance is more important than the score? I am also saying it is shocking that he said something like that and just shows extreme arrogance.

The less at Sixfields the sooner our club will be back in Coventry.

Yes, of course I can. That is why I put "some", by that I meant some like the bandwagon of shouting NOPM and "I wont give any money" but probably never bothered to go when we were at the Ricoh anyway but just like to be outraged and hard done by. Note that I said "SOME"

Or, the stronger the negotiating position for ACL to continue to rip the club off?

How is it ridiculous just wanting to win rather than being fussed about attendance? Obviously it isn't nice to have the players having to play in front of 1,000 home fans at Sixfields or anywhere, but if somebody said there was a choice between have a low attendance every week and win or a high one and lose or scrape a draw I'd go for the win.

You have a NOPM fetish-- you just dont like fans who disagree with you.

I know fans will disagree with my personal views, I understand that but I am also not posting that what I say is fact like "if nobody goes then we will be back in Coventry".

I just think it is shocking that all some care about is how many were in the game, how many were using free tickets, how many were stood on the hill rather than the actual result on the pitch and the football / team / on the pitch stuff.

You will also note I said some fans who are outraged and say they won't give a penny more probably didn't go to games at the Ricoh. Have you got any evidence that every person who says they won't give a penny more were at the Ricoh week in, week out if you want to start asking for proof and evidence about everything? The Crewe or Chelsea game doesn't count either.

You said something, so you should have some basis for saying it.
The truth is you were simply being abusive to fans you dont agree with, like the 'Mong' reference above by Fernando.

You do realise the 2 aren't mutually exclusive.Particularly with FFP the link becomes absolutely critical. If we start next year at Sixfields, how many of our young stars will still be here. There is no guarantee that the next young crop of academy players will be at the same level as Christie and Wilson. So of course attendances are of critical importance to the clubs future, there is a huge correlation between club's wage bill and its likely league position.

Fisher was right in a way. Fans have gone from boycotting matches in Northampon (Keep Cov In Cov, etc) to watching the match for free from the hill - as admitted by Michael from the Trust yesterday.

Which are you talking about? Those inside Sixfields or those "protesting" on the hill?

Ahh you mean the reference I changed as soon as I saw and PM'd him about, the same as when people say scab? That reference?

OK, I know somebody who only ever used to come to the Ricoh when they were given a free ticket, I don't think they ever paid for one unless it was Crewe, Chelsea, West Ham, Newcastle and possible the Leeds game. They now refuse to go to Sixfields based upon NOPM, not because it is too far or they have personal reasons or money problems just because they are outraged about it, even though they didn't really go and weren't really fussed when we WERE in Coventry anyway.

I don't see how by saying that "some" probably didn't go to the ricoh much anyway is abusive?

Ultimately the attendances may play a role with our "better" players, what would you choose playing in front of 18k plus supporters in a decent ground or playing on front of 1.5k supporters in the wrong town?

Heads will be turned and people like Callum will not want to play in Northampton for the next 5 years, also with us playing on a Sunday for our "home" games it gives other managers the opportunity to watch our team.

Facts as far as I can see are:

Last seasons average home league attendance 10,948.

This season 2,020.

A decline of 82%.

Fair to assume that the decline in home supporters is closer to 90%.

I would say Mr Fisher has seriously misjudged his customers.

Surely all our priorities should now be about getting the club back to Coventry? What happens on the pitch is of secondary importance.

Therefore if you believe nopm will help then obviously getting low attendances are the priority.

Personally I would take a 6-0 drumming every week if I thought it would help get us back.

Of course yes, I know our income depends on what we can pay in wages so obviously it would be very nice to have a packed out stadium and win every game I just meant that if I had missed a game or couldn't listen it I'd be asking "What was the score? Who scored? How did we play? Did we hammer them?" rather than "How many were on the hill? How many were there? How many free tickets?"

I just think sometimes some people need to step back and see what it actually is they are angry about, I'm not saying they are wrong to be angry.

Sorry, by saying "going to the Ricoh" I meant as following the club and meant away games too. I just meant complete stayaway fans.

Why do people keep going on about attendance dropping??

Didnt the figures show the other day that MORE home fans are going each week and its been the away fans that have dropped?? Or did I dream that??

Honestly... its a real question!

I can't be 100% but I think you are right. I think the home fans against Colchester were up.
