Heard a lot of comments about it being a steep cliff when you lose any of the first XI

Then I thought well who is currently out injured

Sheaf
Eccles
Saka
Lati
Dovin

There aren’t many teams that can put on a show like ours with definitely 3 of the first team out

Just need a top quality centre half as back up for and cover for the wings

You missed KKH but you also inserted Lati hoping no one would notice so I guess it evens out. As for Sheaf, unfortunately just a sick note at this point.

Where is Lati? Nothing in the injury updates about him.

Oh you said injured. Apologies I thought you were just talking about general depth quality. My bad, I should read better.

No it’s cool
I don’t currently consider Lati or Eccles as first team but they’re definitely on the bench ahead of Andrews and Raphael you would think

I think only Saka and maybe Dovin would get into the side from yesterday. Our cover is lumpy, three LBs good quality RB, no CBs. Lots of 6/8s in CM and no 10s. No real wingers though Rapha is looking closer than he was. Only Simms and BTA to cover striker options and wide right.

An injury to a CB or Rudi or Wright right now would probably derail us more than it should.

Probably is the time to move Sheaf on, use Eccles as the Grimes back up and get a more dynamic replacement. Can't see it being done but would be a nice to have.

Expect a CB and wide player in before the window shuts though.

Why? He doesnt start above the three in the middle yesterday but he's better than Allen, Andrews and Eccles. Unless its top money and/or we have a replacement lined up, then why join the boo boys because if any of the first three get a knock it's a huge drop off. Short memories.

I’ve got no real issues with any of the CMs I just think between them they don’t give us the right mix if we lose players. Eccles and Sheaf are great but put them in for either Torp or Grimes and you lose not just quality but profile as well in important areas I think. Sheaf as a six is probably the closest fit. Eccles is a very different 8 I think and less of a goal threat. Allen can be a 10 and I think he’s most effective there but is mostly a 6 or an 8 and not as good as Sheaf and Eccles there. I just think it needs rejigging.

A great bonus from Saturday was the performance of Wright, I struggle to remember a better performance from him. Last year at times he seemed disinterested, lazy with often poor control, but Saturday he had high energy, won lots of high balls, linked the play well, and of course scored 2 good goals. I'm not sure we can find a better striker, unless we want to pay silly money.
Asante has had his critics maybe often justified but his performances in the last 2 games have been outstanding, the team has suddenly looked full of goals, and he has been integral in our improvement. Have never been a fan of inverse wingers. While Saka has been a decent player for us, he always favours crossing with his left foot meaning the ball is swinging away from the forwards.. I much prefer a right footed crossing on the right wing. Ala Bennett/ Houchen Wembley goal. With Asante often coming inside it means Wright is not so isolated also allowing Milan to overlap and whip in crosses that have led to goals in both games.

I don’t think there is much of a difference between him and Eccles but his fitness is the bigger concern for me. I’d move Allen on also to be clear, what I think the team lacks is a dynamic box to box midfielder and I’d be fine moving on an injury prone defensive midfielder to get one.

Yeah the inverted wingers need a good shot from the edge of the box range or they have to deliver to the far post and get ball over the keeper, EMC is great at getting in on those sort of balls.

Feel sorry for KKH he got battered several
Times when he came on the pitch Saturday in quick succession - I was surprised he kept Milan as he also got a right crocking
