He has stated (in telegraph interview) that he always said we would hit the buffers and that was to be expected.
Well I don't think it is unreasonable to say that if it wasn't for the fact we lost our two most effective strikers we had seen at CCFC in many a year this would not be the case. I put it to him that if we had not lost Clarke when we did and the unfortunate injury to Wilson we would still be enjoying a good ride closing in on the playoffs.
His statement seems to suggest it still would have happened? I can't agree with that. I also worry now that he has come off the confidence building approach he has till now employed so well and in danger of losing the belief among the players resulting in a poor last third of the season.
We need to believe that with Wilson back we are much the same team scoring for fun that we were a few games ago. Has he given a sign that suggest he has already written off this season?
It would never be seen as an excuse though Samo because it's obvious to everyone and no one would deny I surely?

Maybe he predicted that we would go through a bumpy spell as he anticipated that as the season went on we would inevitably get injuries and suspensions to key players?

Well its a bloody good one if it is! I was surprised he didnt mention it but I think he doesnt like to say anything that could be percieved as an excuse. And.. he did choose (or was forced) to start the season with only two senior strikers which was always going to come home to roost!

maybe your reading into things too much?
I doubt aswel he wants to come out n say, "I have no financial backing and can only feed on scraps (loanees and frees)"
Yep. Or... 'they promised me cash to spend in January and never produced'
Spend, spend, spend was the headline wasn't it?
I believe it was... there may be reasons he'd rather not discuss the lack of strikers.
The point I was making is that he expected the buffers? Why?....
we were lucky in that respect, it was what early December when Wilson got injured? 4 months is quite a good run for only minor injuries

To be fair we have brought in delfouneso, Donnelly (returned), McGeough, Marshall, arsenal lad, petesso and Seabourne on a permanent in January window and only lost Clarke.

What disappointed me a few weeks ago was Elvis (the manager! not the poster) went public on saying the Play Offs were probably gone. They very likely are but I don't like to see a manager throw in the towel like that. It smacked of Gordon Strachan saying years ago, at the start of the season, that we would be in a little league fighting against relegation. It sent out all the wrong signals. Defeatist talk.
To be honest with the shocking owners we have he has done ok. But that comment was a mistake.
Spending a total of?
I have no idea but we'd have paid a loan fee as well as picking up a percentage of the loanees wages, so not totally free are they?
Yeovil finished 4th in the league and got promoted and spent the grand total of c£15k on madden, the rest were free or loan players.

But Seppalla had told SP in November that money would be available to BUY players, stating (according to SP) that she would rather buy players than waste money on loans. Point taken re Yeovil though, it can be done.
Well a mid table finish will do me. If we are not in top 6 next year, that's when I'll worry (depending on outgoing players etc)
