First 23 games 34 points ( pre Christmas)

Second 19 so far 28 points (post Christmas)

Not been a bad season has it, we seem to be consistent if anything

Losing at home to Hull and Swansea will cost us a play off place.

Yeah but if you discount all the games we won we’d be relegated.

Not sure they are the 2 matches that have decided that to be honest

we are not exactly consistent

we’ve started winning away and have stopped winning many at home

Two games we would have expected to win if to achieve the play offs.
Which other games would you suggest would be considered as "disappointing results".

Well our home form is Won 10 drew 5 Lost 6

That's 11 matches where we've dropped points alone ..

Blackpool draw
Blackburn on a poor run we drew
Drew with Preston
Lost to Luton
Lost to QPR

To be fair, there’s also been plenty of games we wouldn’t have expected to win but have, it’s a strange league like that…derby and us beating Fulham highlights it

Also, Swansea put in a very good performance up here and on their day are a decent team.

I think we are where we should be. Just lacked that consistency to have nailed a play off place but in the mix. Been a great season

Every team that just misses out, and they'll be a few this season, will have sob stories of games they should have picked up more points in, it's just the way it is.

I think we'll fall short but its still been a great season.

We battered QPR at home, Daylight robbery, but over a 46 game season all teams will have those sort of games.

Not sure i agree with that. Should have got a draw maybe but we certainly didn't batter them.

Might be my failing memory, but thought it was a smash and grab job. Good bit of skill for their winner Willock/Addomah, but I seem to recall the QPR forum saying similar

a quick example

I thought all six in defence played very well - and needed to against an impressive side playing attractive football. The difference between the two teams yesterday was Willock. He showed his extra quality with the two assists. I make him MOTM. If he had been playing for Coventry they would have beaten us.

Same here but I remember feeling a draw might have been a fair result but I didn't feel we were the better team.

I took a QPR fan to the game with me and he was very embarrassed (though very happy) that they got anything out of the game.

The home form decline is ultimately the problem, the away form has improved massively

2 home games stick out for me straight away where we should have had an extra 3 points

QPR at home we were the better team by a mile, even their fans said the same. All it took was to bury one or 2 of the many chances we had and that was at least 1 point extra

Second one, Blackpool at home. How Hamer missed that absolute sitter in the 92nd minute by deciding to smash it full pelt and not place it cost us 2 points without question.

Them 3/5 points were the biggest slip ups for me.

But people said if not for purple patch start of season we were showing relegation form

And to be fair to those posters if you don't count any of our wins we would be bottom of the table.

Only if they’re headers against a team with an average age above 24.

Two games ago it was a fair assumption though. We won one game in eight at that time.

The last two results have been incredible and don't get me wrong, I'm excited enough for the Bournemouth game to travel back from the Netherlands for it, but let's be honest... Who can honestly say they saw it coming?

I don't think it is unreasonable for people to have started getting distracted with other hobbies. However as other people have said, we have been sucked back in.

Let's hope we can win on Monday and those of us who were on the verge of checking out for the summer can be glad they didn't!

I'm actually completely shocked by this. Really thought he were better in the first half of the season.

We only took 1 point from the 3 games in December and 6 points from the 5 games in November. Only 1 win in those 8 games. If anything this is where it cost us.

After yesterday’s win, I was looking through the results this season and the games where we could arguably have obtained more points. Purely hypothetical, and of course, you can flip the argument the other way (especially with the ridiculous number of late goals we’ve scored) but there’s no question that we could’ve (and perhaps should’ve) been in that top 6. Magnificent effort and one of the best, if not the best, seasons in living memory, whatever plays out in the next 4;

Barnsley away - 1 point (missed pen, dominated the game)
Blackburn away - 2 points (stonewall penalty after horrific challenge on Gyokeres which coincided in his barren spell)
Preston - 1 point (should’ve been out of sight. Second half collapse was extremely disappointing)
Derby - 2 points (Godden header incorrectly ruled out which would’ve put us 2 up)
Blues - 2 points (by far the better sides, time wasting and shithousery nonsense throughout from the opposition)
Huddersfield - 2 points (still have no idea how we managed to merely salvage a point late on. Fantastic performance, missed chances rued once more)
Millwall - 1 point (minimum we deserved. Another anti-footballing side who came to spoil. The Covid nonsense derailed us during December when we were ready to play, and the likes of Luton and Cardiff cried off with a suspect number of cases. Typically when we were cramming in fixtures in throughout February, these sides were back to full strength and we were decimated with injury)
QPR - 3 points. (Brilliant performance. Fully deserved the win but we missed numerous chances and QPR converting the handful presented to them).
Blackpool - 2 points (another that got away, see Hull, Blues, Millwall)
PNE - 2 points (should never have got to the stage of us having to equalize in the 98th minute by Tavares’ sublime goal)
Luton - 1 point (a game we should never have lost. Up there with the likes of Reading, Hull, Millwall and PNE for shite tactics)
Hull - 1 point (for me, the most disappointing result of the season. We had the opportunity to kick on after hammering Sheffield United on the Saturday and really put ourselves back in the play-off picture. Two absolute gifts for Hull and they shut up shop after about 5 minutes. Saying that, we had the chances to get at least a point)
Derby - 2 points (their phantom penalty aside, Gyo missed 2 gilt edged chances that really should’ve secured the win thereafter)
Blackburn - 2 points (our first 45 was almost flawless and warranted a 2, if not 3-0 lead at HT).

Obviously I’m not saying we should be 24 points better off, but even a handful of the above would have us sitting nicely in that top 6.

Confident we can do the business Monday and the remaining 3 (+3) games which will make the above irrelevant To get to where we are on our budget is nothing short of miraculous. PUSB
