Sky contract comes to an end next month. And i resent paying 75 quid for shite telly. I only have it for the F1 and football.

So heres my question.

Does anyone here have one, and does it work a treat once its been 'fiddled with' so to speak

I have one , it works well 98 % of the time , depends alot on wether you have decent stable Internet ,also played up the other day in torrential rain however , sky can do the same... better than paying over 1000 a year for all the sports

If you have fibre broadband, it will work fine.

My experience - it came “fully loaded” and I found it great for tv shows and films until the apps started getting closed down or not working. Then I had to look up how to put new ones on, then I got bored of constantly having to do that. For streaming sports I found it crap, often cut out mid game if I could get the game (or ppv boxing) at all. The in law who gave it me stressed it was because I had the wrong apps and to keep trying new ones. Lost patience in the end and just stuck with sky.

Summary from me, if you don’t mind spending the time updating it and searching for the good links/apps, and it’s a monetary decision also, go for it.

I should say my brother has a proper box (not sure what it is or where it’s from) and that works faultlessly like a sky box. He gets it all… sky sports, bt, porn, ppv, ifollow etc. and never had to update anything. If I was gonna go pirate I’d get one of those over the fire stick.

If you use dodgy free places then you will spend hours trying to get it to work.

FWIW, I went for Now TV for that - they have offers reasonably often for £20 a month. I appreciate that's £20 a month more than a fully loaded firestick, but it's also £55 a month cheaper than Sky if you're not using all of it. Think the standard price is £35 a month.

If you want to get it for free you'll have a nightmare and no consistency. If you are willing to pay a tenner a month for everything then you can get it extremely consistent and have no problems. Feel free to dm me if you want more info
