If Beaudesert Road in Earlsdon isn't the shortest in the country I'll be gutted.

Obviously usual concerns around building by posh old people with lots of time to complain about planning issues and green belt, etc.

There are houses all the way around, youd have to knock them down first, then buy up Woodfield school (in that woods) and through Ulathourne playing fields, over the railway

Some of my favourite people are old and posh with too much time on their hands. Growing up in the posher bits of Earlsdon and reading the ECHO does mean you come across the green pen brigade a fair bit though.

Didn't realise there was a school in there. I bow to your greater knowledge. Back to Warwick Uni as my preferred site I guess.

lol I live in the area, grew up roaming them fields and streets, I know it inside out, and there is no way in other than through Finham park school itself, which is possible, but a road would have to be put in down the side of the field and I guess with kids running around it might be a health and safety issue.

Or as we used to do when I went there, change at the school and jog it.

Interesting. At least it shows they are looking into options and haven't just decided to shut things down.

There's loads of room there so as long as they are prepared to spend should be possible. But history tells us spending is unlikely.

Ah, I never ventured past the Kenilworth Road, Tutbury Fields and Canley Ford was where I spent most of my days. Apart from one time on acid I got lost in those woods, but funnily enough I don't remember that too clearly.

Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
She said, "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air."

There are proposals for mass house building on Kings Hill lane which is just down from the school and with only the nurseries and Leasowes Farm inbetween.

For those plans to come off there will need to be major infrastructure improvements notably access from Stonleigh Road which is at the back of the woods at the bottom of the second playing field - the land falls between Coventry and Warwick District Council. Also may be possible to purchase land for an access road from the farm and link it to the current Kings Hill Lane.

I went to Finham but lived by Ullathorne - used to jump the train track over to Gretna and then into the school fields. Great Days

It'll be interesting to see what plans CCFC come up with. I predict that they'll produce grandiose plans and promote them via the media, but then nothing will happen, as they will want someone else to pay for it! As we know our club currently does not invest in anything!

Yeah I'd build it round the swamp pitch, next to the 'Cricket Nets' be a foot underwater so may work to City's advantage!

My mate runs the Green Lane club round there, there's tons of space, apparently there was supposed to be a massive estate originally that never panned out. Might be a good shout.

I used to live in Beanfield Ave and play for Green Lane social football club, in the late 70's
Know the area well, happy days. :emoji_relaxed:
