I doubt these are the same Chinese banking people previously courted and absolutely no doubt that this has been done to derail today's discussions between SISU and the council. Makes it difficult for SISU to play the "were the only show in town" card.

I like that slip of the tongue. "were the only show in town!"

INteresting that this story is released on the day the club and council meet again after seemingly promising meetings.....

People need to stop playing chicken with the club.

Well i for one will look at this as positive news.I'm sick to death of bad news ,or no news ,which is what we are getting at the moment

After years and years of non stop shit news concerning our club, i will for now believe this and enjoy it , and even perhaps dream it will come off, and hope at last we will have a brighter future. I know it might be all bull**it ,we are all used to that, but come on lads just dream with me, just for today will do , that this is going to happen and this Chinese group has honourable intentions to rebuild the club and INVEST.

I agree Rev. We have a bit of hope here. Could be the only bit of hope for us. What have we got other than hope?

Exactly, we've had bugger all to look forward to so at least we have something to cling to. Just hope these Chinese are quicker at sorting out a takeover than a bloody takeaway, was waiting an hour for mine on saturday night!

anyone remember that documentry about wealthy chinese business men buying english clubs?? i think this is absolute dreamworld and Hoffman is spinning!! ffs chinese businessmen interested in a 3rd tier side with huge debts no home and owners that will want a massive buy out? i hope they dont rearise we have a pwemier league where you can buy a club twice as good and twice as big for half the money. just one more thing, there is one thing wrong with this story on a serious note, if the chinese wanted to buy the buy the land or/and the stadium they could do it like handing out smarties. they dont need the team,. it is all bullshit guys take it with a pinch of salt that hoffmans spin usually deserves.

and now for our chinese freinds:

Just did a bit of google research on this Ken Grant guy. It turns out he is a director of THE FOOTBALL PRESIDENT CLUB. Other directors of this company include Sam Allardyce and Shane Maloney. If you remember to the start of this season when the tanned man let it slip that he met with Hoffman and a guy called Ken Bruce. Well the rumour around that time was that he did this so people could link the bruce guy to big sam, so hoffman would have to pull out. Both Allardyce and Maloney were part of the company CUJU TV limited, as was Bruce. It seems that the Grant guy is working with the same people again, which surely would lead to the same problem, that big sam cant be a manager of one team and be involved in a takeover of another. Just trying to look at this situation from another view

Utter rubbish. More bluster and mischievous nonesense.

Desperate PR. Clutching at straws. Playing on our emotions after relegation.

New dawn my arse - same old, same old - sounds like Carsen Yeung to me...

Sorry I am such a bitter twisted cynic - but sick to my back teeth now of empty Hoffman promises. Just want him to crawl back under his rock and only come out again when he has actual investment - not the "possibility" of investment.

Signed off - a particularly grump old man

Grant is a joke - he has been flaunting chinese backers around a number of Football League Clubs, but has never produced when pressed. Hoffman has been sucked in to the fantasy world of this guy - The President's Club says it all really.

Hi GGT - Just thoroughly thoroughly fed-up to read Hoffman is dangling us like a piece of bait hoping someone / anyone will bite.

All I ask is Hoffman informs us when he has something to say and not keep telling us what might happen cos he has been telling us what might happen for far too long now.

Hoffman steps up and buys the club now - by June latest or he goes away and leave Sisu to try and put things right. We cannot have a situation where Sisu are in charge come the start of the season and Hoffman is in the background trying to sabotage and spoil. Whoever owns the club by July has my full backing for the season - we need to get fully behind the club and team for the new season and not be distracted by an ownership struggle.

Just my view - others may differ - I see I am now a Sisu maggot cos I do not share your view - symptomatic of all that is wrong with this forum at the moment - express an opinion that does not conform to the anti-Sisu brigade and you are a "traitor" or "maggott". C'est la vie

Meh. Even if serious bid is being conjured up in some magical land of Chinese money pixies, is it realistically going to happen before the next season?

I did say in a previous post that just for today i will believe it, just so for at least a day i will feel a little better about my club.

I know full well from decades of supporting Cov that almost certainly this will all come crashing down and go tits up, and i will go back to being very depressed.
Just try it for a day, I have actually smiled today.

TIMS - I just wish people would be a bit more optimistic and less pessimistic I know we have been fed BS for so long now but please a little hope and and few prayers and who knows what might happen? I just can't be arsed with all this anti Hoffman feeling the bloke is doing his best and trying his hardest and as far as I know he has been keeping everything under wraps- as he should - he's not shouting from the roof tops he is merely trying to save our club.

TIMS is far too anti-Hoffman for my liking. Makes me very suspicious. Appears to go past just not trusting in the guy and aims more at completely dissing him.

Have no problem with people not buying into what Hoffman is trying to do, but there are degrees. Just seems the same agenda with TIMS over and over. Why not just deal with each piece of individual news story on its own individual merits?
