Can anyone put a figure on what Wasps have lost this season not having 23 ccfc home games at the Ricoh?

I can’t but it must be a good amount. Significant amount. Especially with us top of the league.

Just a couple of points to add.

1. it’s only 22 games as bury have dropped out.

2. please add fa cup, league cup and checkatrade games.

More importantly, what about local businesses? Pubs etc on match days.

How many ACL staff lost their jobs because of the massive drop in match days and events?

ACL have cut permanent staff as well as loss of hours for the casuals and are rumoured to be 'restructuring' again at the moment.

As a former local resident I still need to ask how exactly does opening one of largest supermarket locations and sports stadium add to the regeneration of the area and the overall condition of the local economy?

Surely there has been more job losses then gains within the local area with business going to wall unable to compete with the massive economies of scale this new venture has.

This knock on effect can clearly be seen with the decimation of other shopping centres in and around the local area.

Surely the consumer now has less choice then before with this site opening.

Club did claim that wasps were making around 2m per year from match day associated income. Club claimed that was 20 times more than the club were making.
Had to verify exactly without detailed information. Maybe loosely possible when comparing wasps accounts but obviously that's a year away.

First establish what the rent really is. Would Boddy confirm that? There is a rent figure of £0.5m in the accounts

It’s easy to calculate per head revenue from f and b and apply that to a estimated crowd

there is then car parking - don’t know if they get that?

Don’t know arrangements on sponsorship either

The other factor is would it assist in ground naming rights but I’d ignore that for now

Not sure anyone can tell Pete even a reasonable guess

There is the rent. The otium accounts will show the rent for Stadium & Higgs. We were told it was £100k in L1
Matchday costs - well yes but what wasps lose is their add on because there are costs associated that wouldnt be paid unless a match took place
Car parking - 2000 spaces at £10 x 22 games less the VAT less associated costs say £300k but i thought it got franchised out
F&B - spend from football crowds historically has not been high but say £4 per head (i think thats high) x 12000 x 22 games less VAT less costs say 50% £440k? But part was going to CCFC before
Sponsorship - wasps accounts show sponsorship so maybe there might be some uplift but pitchside that advertising used to be CCFC's
Stadium sponsorship who knows - they should be able to get something so what the uplift for CCFC being there is i couldnt say. The stadium sponsorship market outside Premier league is not bouyant

Against that is the cost savings or alternative incomes
they dont need so many staff so less cost there. We know ACL made cuts in staff, it wasnt all because of CCFC leaving (roles were duplicated) but part was
Pitch maintenance - doesnt need to be as much because I rugby pitch doesnt need the same quality i would argue.
then the rooms that can be let in the hotel at the weekends stadium not used plus car park usage
the extra events, if any, that can be put on plus car park usage

Certainly dont think they are missing out on the £2m Fisher put forward, thats the top line figure ignoring the costs. But wasps are missing out on income

Councillors tweet is comedy value, talk about economic naivety from him representing us a citizens in the city.
Do we need to mass write to him asking him to explain to his comments.
Do we need Pete and Mark to go meet him?

I'd be surprised if the contracts for catering/parking etc. didn't have punishment clauses for the loss of c. 25 match days

It seems a few of them seem to have this kind of view, they don't seem to be bothered about the local area losing out in that aspect.
People will have lost their jobs, people will have lost work hours because of it. They just brush it away as nothing because they just think "Wasps, Wasps, Wasps" now.

WASP are missing income full stop. OSB's rough guide could be way off the mark. Foot fall has a habbit of providing more income than you might otherwise assume. With say a 30k crowd for our last game of the season had we been there would generate substantial income and, not only for WASP but the ancillary businesses as well. The casino...how well are they doing since we left? Have WASP managed to get new stadium sponsors? And the rent, while stated as 100k I'm sure that figure would at least double if we were back there.
The fact is both WASP and the city benefit to have the football club back. Local business also benefits. When was the last time WASP even considered maintenence and repairs to the stadium? A closer look, and its clear money needs spending on it. Why have they not changed the seats? Too expensive. When all these clowns on both sides wake up to reality I'm sure a deal will be done for the next few seasons. Not to is commercial ineptitude.
If I was WASP I would be tying CCFC down to a higher rent 5 year deal before the likelyhood of them (just maybe) getting back to the premier league when the huge money would see any new owner of ccfc commit to a new stadium of their own. Strike while the iron is hot WASP.

I've asked this question before. It seems unconceivable that all the partners at the Ricoh, from the parking through to the hotel and casino haven't had some sort of reduction in fees due to the reduced footfall.

It would be insane of them to pay the same if there were 100 events per year or 10.

People keep saying its contacted out like the revenue suddenly doesn't matter.

Do people really think the car parking company, for example, signed a contract with ACL knowing we might leave and take £440K a year in revenue with us without there being something in the contract to cover that?
