Yet they still found time to argue with themselves.

It’s never felt like home. The ambition that drove us to have that stadium was fine, but 32.5k was always unrealistic for us to fill, even more so after relegation from the premiership.
It looks in complete, it really is soulless, and the stand where the boxes are looks awful.
It’s was disappointed with the final design compared to the first design which was modelled on the Amsterdam Arena. That’s a brilliant stadium to watch football in

Ayone else notice this photo in the Coventry Telegraph?
With the way Dave Boddy (chief exec of CCFC) is standing, it changes what it says under our crest to 'FOOL CLUB'.
This is my 6,666th post!

Exactly, but that's my point, mid week games are often just about the game and probably a bigger indicator of how a person feels about the ground with all the other stuff taken away.

I remember the buzz I used to get walking up Raglan street, the glow of the floodlights illuminating the Hillfields sky, the gradual increase in the noise the nearer you got to the ground, the odour of ale and smoke in the 70s and 80s, loved it!

As I say, it's about opinion, your view is as valid as mine but we just have opposite opinions about the place.

Agree with most of this as an older supporter we loved HR reminds us of our youth and playing too class football.

Now all we get is all the political bollox spoiling out enjoyment.

Ricoh is a cracking ground. Concourses are shit though. And stands half a meter too far from pitch.
Still, beggers can't be choosers.

The ground was built for us not the Egg Chasers and we should be playing there!

The Ricoh is OK, same as a lot of the new stadiums. Highfield Road was OK, but I have much better memories from it. I’m not sure it’s down to the stadium, maybe 10% ish? How we feel, how the team play, what’s riding on the match, how close a tribe we are all impact more. I was more in love with CCFC as a youth as I felt we always had a chance, and we only ever talked about the football. Being young I was excited and loved the buzz of my dad and his mates having a bit of freedom away from work/home enjoying themselves. As I grew up it became me and my mates following on. Now I hear a lot of moaning at home games. You would think the fans had all coached or played at a high level, or they are business experts, even head of planning as they have all the answers (maybe I’m an old git). My best memories recently have been mostly when stupid stuff has happened, and for some reason it’s old stadiums. Last year County away was brilliant, made even better by Nolan being a big baby. Singing about Slade at Grimsby constantly during the second half. A few years back at Bramall Lane, night game, 2 nil down and Jesus appears. Jesus is a Cov fan and we score!! One of our fans getting pulled over the advertising boards and escorted out at Scunthorpe for making a snowball and launching it at the keeper. It gets lost in the modern stadiums. Hillsborough and Goodison are 2 of my favourites, but then I’ve also enjoyed Wembley with Cov and England. I vote HR.

As a venue the Ricoh is really good, obviously you have the Casino, the hotel, all the bars, ample parking and I don’t even think the facilities inside the Ground are that bad.

Do I love the Ricoh or have any emotion attached to it, no. The atmosphere has never been fantastic and the idea of a bowl-shaped stadium has never really been appealing to me.

CCFC needs to stay at the Ricoh, I love the idea of a new stadium long term, however I can’t see it being financially viable.

In the unlikely event Fisher did get a new ground sorted I doubt many people would be upset at leaving the Ricoh. Would certainly be nothing remotely like leaving HR.

Drive passed the old HR everyday and can still see the old shape due to that crappy estate built on it, why a new ground wasn’t built there is beyond me but I suspect individuals at the club at the time became a little better off than they were. But Ricoh is home now and any fan in their mid twenties and below know nothing else. Hate the bowl stadium designs and that stand where the dressing rooms are wants gutting and re-designing.bloody eye sore.
