...of 'we'll see what we can do this week', 'hopefully we can get 1 or 2 more in', 'I have players in mind' etc. I'd rather be told we'll have to make do with what we've got than be strung along for six weeks with little hints, occasional rumours, and absolutely nothing concrete at all.
I really don't know what to think, there are so many conflicting messages coming out of the club. Firstly, we've put in a bid of 500k for Le Fondre, then we're told frees and loans are the only possible target. Then it seems any decent bid for our players will be accepted, then we turn down 1.5 million for Jutkiewicz.
Hate to say it, but I'm getting more and more disillusioned every day. I wake up and immediately check for news on the CCFC front, but never is there anything there worth reading, except the regular 'chairman is working hard', 'Thorn says X set for big things' type stories. I'm just hoping against hope that either we see some transfer activity quickly, or the season starts well. If a few games go against us early on, and still no-one is brought in before the deadline, I can see crowds falling pretty sharpish and a negative feeling setting in.
If this does happen, I really hope AT isn't made the fall guy. I feel like the rug has been pulled from under him somewhat, and I think he's intelligent about football and deserves an opportunity.
