Masterchef is on the box, just finished a lovely sweet and sour chicken so have food on the mind. If you could pick ONE meal what would it be?
For me it would be a curry, always have time for one and so tasty. Maybe a nice Madras

Hmmm. Hard to see past a top quality steak really, rib eye medium rare with bernaise sauce. Nothing more satisfying imo.

That said, honourable mentions to Thai Crispy Pork Belly with Chilli & Basil with coconut rice or a good quality Haddock, Chips and Mushy Peas with home made tartare sauce

They used to serve this dish in the Caludon Castle school cafeterial called Cheese Flan. It was really good. I've never had it since.
It made my day whenever that was on the menu (if they had a menu).
I Googled 'cheese flan' and it was nothing like the matches I found.
It was more like a cheese quiche. Definitely not a dessert or anything baked.
This is the closest thing I could find:

do you end up eating the steak, or just leave it in the oven?

Either pizza done like they do in Rome, or bacon cheeseburger like Shake Shack/Five Guys in New York. Add some chunky chips with mayo, proper battered onion rings and some nice coleslaw on the side for the burger.
