Thread for everyone to post their favourite Band/ Musician or Artist. So people can get in to new music that they may nit have listened to before. I'll start it off.

My favourite rapper is Mac Miller.

My favourite band is Iron Maiden. My favourite singer is their frontman Bruce Dickinson. The guy has a voice that is one of the all time great rock and metal voices, especially when he was in his prime. Some of his solo stuff is better than Maiden's, even if it's not as well know.

I don't really listen to a lot of "modern" genres like Rap, or R'n'B. They just aren't my cup of tea.

Massive fan of Paramore. Liked them even before the 'Riot' album and the Misery Business song that effectively was their rise to stardom. The first album I heard of theirs was 'All We Know Is Falling' from back in 2005. Personally think all of their albums to date have been really good and they haven't released a song I don't like.

Yeah i liistened to Paramore's first album as well and have really liked them since their early days.

Another favourite of mine is Angels & Airwaves. Very uplifting type of music (if that makes sense!!!)

Depends on my mood and quite varied taste, but Bob Marley, The Jam or The Smiths are always among my favs. I have to confess that a couple of the ones you guys have posted, I've not even heard of. I've always been a bit of a dinosaur with music but I'm more out of touch than ever now.

I like a lot of genres, mainly modern urban music, mc, drum and bass, ect as I have grown up with mates listening to it.
But I love a bit off Coldplay.

Eels. I'd recommend listening to 'daisies of the galaxy' album. He's sort of alt-rock but changes genre from album to album

Absolutely love Guest List and Novocaine.

Also wondered if anyone had heard of Jane Taylor? Saw her in Birmingham earlier in the year and it was the most mesmerising gig I've ever been to!

1) Metallica
2) Machine Head

Interchangeable depending on which I've seen live most recently.

Any other metalheads on the forum?

It's changed over the years. The first bands I got into as a kid were Madness and the Specials, followed by Happy Mondays, They Might be Giants, The Smiths, The Fall, Nirvana, Aphex Twin, Prodigy, Blur, Super Furry Animals, Dandy Warhols, Half Man Half Biscuit etc. Then I got into dance music in a huge way and took far too many drugs. Then I got into Elephant six bands like Apples in Stereo. Apart from that, I don't really like music. :guitar2:

These days, I can't get past the Pixies. I always liked them from the mid-90's onwards, but I'm obsessed now.
