There are two or three at the moment that are brilliant in their humour ,the Specsavers one currently ,where the guy thinks he's sitting in a sauna but its Ramseys kitchen ,and the moneysupermarket one ,i think where Ryan walks through a hotel lobby in a pair of ill fitting trunks ,much to the embarrassment of all around including his misses and kids ,prompting him to expain himself in that high pitched defensive tone we've all had to adopt at some point.I may be guilty of watching too much telly of late.

I absolutely HATE any ad that uses washed up ex-"celebrities" like June Whitfield, Michael Parkinson, Carole Voorderman, Esther Rantzen et al, just to sell shite they would never use themselves e.g. poxy life insurance, Stannah Stairlifts, mis-sold PPI's etc. Do they really think I actually believe them?
Apart from those, the ones I really think are good are............ er .......... ummmm ............... er ............ lemme think :thinking about:............ nah. Can't think of any! They all get on my tit!

I like the lynx adverts myself.

and there was a mcdonalds one a few years back where a bloke was in a bedroom talking to his baby slagging his mother in laws dinner without realising the monitor was on. Always tickled me, lol

Adverts just don't seem to work on me.

I recognise the tunes and the ads when they come on, remember they are annoying or funny but then pretty much always forget what the ad was for.

Then there are ones like Go Compare, which is so in your face, so repetitive and so annoying, that it does stick in the brain but only puts you off going to Go Compare to get your insurance.

Can't remember Rob working for Mercia? I worked with him at BBC CWR for a couple of years from about '94 - '96 though. No adverts!

Rob Gurney

Rob is part of the WM sports team. Find out what lead Rob to become a sports reporter and how you can get in touch with him.
Rob joined BBC WM full-time in September 2001 after working for the BBC in Coventry since the summer of 1994.
He covered Coventry City's matches home and away for 12 seasons, both for the Beeb and independent radio station Mercia Sound, for whom he started working at the age of 16.
He has been involved in covering football, rugby union, cricket, athletics, speedway and ice hockey during his sports reporting career, but still rates being at Wembley for the 1987 FA Cup Final as an all-time highlight.

Can't stand any ad's these days, which is why I'm thankful for PVR's. However, I do admit to finding these 2007 ads very amusing.

I can't believe what I've just seen!!

A donation ad for a Bible, they want £4 a month so people around the world can have a Bible.

We must be in a recession if the World best selling book needs help.

I know if my Nan was alive she would probably have several subcriptions.

Subscriptions actually sounds like a book from the Bible, comes somewhere near Revelations & Corinthians.

"And lo, Jesus said thou shall donate 4 coins from thy earnings on every moon, so the poor can read about my brilliance"

-Subscriptions 1:5

I heard somewhere a while back, that the McDonald's 'M' is only just ahead of the Christian '+' in terms of economic value.

This donation for a bible business seems to support that claim! crazy!

The original tango orange ads...Purple House & all that...& the tango orange man lol
'Ooo look Pertunia. There's a man over there with a purple face!'

The '...and who drew that big dog?!' is a modern-day favourite.

I used to enjoy the Molson Golden radio commercials in the 80's.
The TV commercials weren't as good but this one was pretty neat:
