I think people get too hung up on season tickets. I haven t got one but I bet I ll still go to every game and arguably put more money into the club than a season ticket holder

"I've not been to a city match since opening day of our second season at the Richo (2006)."
Despite this Gumms, you have the incredulity to tell someone who has been going to every home game for the past 5 years to "do one" for being critical of our all-of-a-sudden Messianic owners? Come back in a few years when you've shown a bit of support for our club!
Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth.
You know im going to be honest here. I've not been to a city match since opening day of our second season at the Richo (2006). There have been various reason why. I don't earn a lot of money and i spent 5 years living in Wales doing my degree (2006 onwards). On top of this im a professional actor so i spend a lot of my time on the road. All in all this means i haven't been able to make any games for 6 years.
Despite all this, i plan on trying to make as many games as i can this season. I know SISU have screwed us over but they've tried to put some of their monumental cock ups right over the past 2 months and im hoping they will continue to do so. Not buying a season ticket means the money isn't going into the club. We don't own the arena so we only get gate receipts. No concert money etc. The club is literally hanging on by the skin of its teeth and your ST money is part of that life line.
But i can't persuade the doubters. I'm not going to try. In the end its their decision whether they buy a ST or not. I just hope it doesn't spell the end for us...
I like the fantasy that I might find something more exciting to do on a Saturday afternoon : D
If you find her and she's got a friend let me know!!

Perhaps ultimately you may do, but it doesn't serve the club do well as they can't budget for unknown expenditure. The basis of their business plan will primarily be based on known income. They may partially speculate on more staccato income, such as walk-ups, unexpected television appearances or a decent cup run; but they won't budget for it. As such, your mystique doesn't help the club as much as the greater cash might make you think it might
What can I say? I m disgusted with myself
I find a slightly warmed flannel far more effective
The three of us who have had one for the last few seasons haven't got them this year. I can't speak for them but my main reasons are that I'm now involved with a Saturday football team and if I weren't it's far too expensive for League One football

Says the man who threatened never to go again, or be involved, if saint Bigirimana left? Hypocritical isnt it? Still waiting for my answer as to why you havent disappeared yet or was it empty words like the SISU you despise?
Hmmm. Can't agree with you on that one.
One of the fun bits about this season - if there are any - will be the fact that we will be a big fish in a small pond. Without being bombastic, our stadium facilities and lets hope playing squad will be an epoch apart from the balance of the league. Imagine being a Yeovil supporter and coming to the Ricoh and trying the casino for a cheeky drink ahead of kick-off. Its something rare.
And if we are to enjoy this privilege, there's a cost associated therewith that cannot be jettisoned overnight
Good luck getting an answer on that one. At least he is entertaining.
He did reply when i asked him about this earlier, was something like, "er, well, my friend bought two season tickets, and it was too late not to take it, so I've got to go, and er, um well".
Found it a bit far-fetched to be honest.
He has a friend??
You still stalking me then Lord?
My mate bought 2 season tickets this season-like he always has done. He used to take business clients and family until his son emigrated to NZ and he semi-retired from work. He tried to get his nephew interested, but he just didn't want to know. So I started buying the spare ticket as it was going to the point where I was going every week. But at no point did I have to pay in advance-I just paid my mate on the day.
Last season I told him I wouldn't be able to make nearly as many games due to staff shortages at work. I also told him that I wasn't prepared to pay money to support SISU every week any more. He got the two tickets regardless, saying "You don't have any commitment, just let me know if you can make it, and if you can't I'll take my niece". He's in his 60's and despite the fact that he moans even more than me, it's the highlight of his week: he actually appreciates my comments a little more than his nieces, as she doesn't really like football and pays little interest. So I said OK, with the proviso that I would only be available for half the games at most.
Then the fixtures came out, showing that I can't make nearly as many due to work, as expected. I'd have to swap shifts for most Saturday's, which would mean I'd be working 8 days straight quite a lot. I'm not particularly prepared to do that for a club owned by lying venture capitalists who aren't even prepared to pay the rent.
Then we sold Gael: I never thought that they'd let him go for such a fraction of his potential worth. My main reason for having hope this season was the prospect of watching him tearing the division to pieces. The irony being that if we had strengthened adequately under SISU, he wouldn't have been exposed before he was ready-and the Newcastle scouts maybe wouldn't have spotted his potential.
I'm still livid at the way that they are essentially selling anybody of any value, and replacing them with players that cost nothing in transfer fees. So I won't be going out of my way to swap shifts at work to get up there: if anything I'm inclined to say I'm busy even when I'm free.
I still support the club, but a little fire has gone out, I'll admit that. It won't be re-lit until SISU go.
And yes Lord, I do have other friends-none of which renewed their ST due to SISU.
Is that enough of an explanation for you, Chase, Lord and Sickboy? If not, then maybe we can carry on this conversation via PM?
Myself and 3 others had been ST holders for coming up to 20 years but didn't renew this season.
They'd have a lot to do to regain the trust of many of our supporters'. I'm not sure they ever could to be honest.
I am struggling to find any players who a League One club has signed other than a free transfer - are there any?
I've no idea, my interest in football is waning to an extent that I'm not keeping abreast of L1 transfers.
But I don't know of a team who has been promoted from L1 without spending a fee on a solitary player. Or one that has brought as much money in through sales without re-investing at least a fraction of it in transfer fees. If anything, they SISU did more in this regard last season by letting Thorn spend some of the Turner money on Cody. Are we going to spend any of the Lukas, Gael or Keogh money on players? And if not, who are we going to have left to sell next year when SISU want their pound of flesh again?

Erm...me?
I can't afford it either! Yet I've kept going.
Hilarious! I still go every week and yet you can't be bothered but still take the high and might view. Well done.
