Heard from people at the Bedworth Supporters Club with MR and Doug tonight that:

Doug said that he brought the last 15% as it come clear very quickly him and SISU working together wasn’t going to work

All new stadium plans on a bonfire (not that it was ever happening anyway) and staying at CBS is only option - Called SISU’s plans ‘Pie In The Sky’

MR said he’s not leaving off his own back until he’s managed us in the Prem

Doug King Takeover

Relatively so, but imagine a lot of it is a) that he has to be relatively neutral being on the BBC, and b) they had to maintain a decent relationship with the club (who had form for excluding those like the CET who spoke out against them). I don't think he works for the BBC anymore. If I...

Perhaps the best news of the night. DK said he realised quickly he couldn’t work with them so bought their 15% stake.
Bringing the training ground up to scratch more good news, Robins said needs to happen to help attract the better players.
Wonder if that will include buying back the Connexion making it fit for the 21st century and using it for what it was built for.

I was looking on Google Earth last night and although I knew Ryton was quite small, I was shocked to see just how small it was. The car park isn’t even big enough for a full 25 man squad!

I think if they want to bring it up to PL standards, they will need to buy the Connexion area back. There looks to be some sort of digger hire yard next door, could they potentially buy this as well?

If it were me, I’d build a new centre where the Connexion is and try and move the pitches round etc.

This 15% thing is baffling me. So presumably Doug could have bought SISU's shareholding at any time in the future, including a scenario where we get promoted to the Promised Land, thus destroying the argument that said SISU were holding the 15% so they could share in the spoils of life in the top tier.

15% would be a lot more expensive in the Premier League than it would now.

I can't see how this is relevant to the point I was trying to make. What was the point of SISU holding a minority shareholding if Doug could buy them out at any time? Presumably he would have done that if it looked like promotion was on the cards.

Didn't he say it was so he had somebody around who knew the club? He now appears to be saying that didn't work out so he bought the rest.

The only person around the club resigned the next day - the actual staff were retained anyway

He probably realized very quickly that the 15% retained by SISU was a toxic 15% and in order to deal effectively and honestly with almost anyone in the area, he needed their name gone.

Could it have been he held the 15% back incase the option to get hold of the stadium became a reality? Now that proved futile, he could then use what he held back to buy the remaining 15%?

Nothing. We all presumed at the time that SISU wanted to keep 15%. Maybe it was simply because DK couldnt commit to buying 100% and going for the stadium.

Anyone think he might sell the majority share to Mike Ashley and stay on board for the ride?

I might be wrong but I guess SISU wanted to hold it incase we made it to Prem and/or were bought further down the line. Subsequently I wonder if there was going to be investment from King into club whether SISU had to do their 15% worth and just didn’t have the cash so they came to an earlier agreement ?!

I think DK was just waiting for his next pay day to purchase the last 15%.

Ideally we'd move from Ryton to a new purpose built facility where the first team, u23's and youth team can be housed on 1 site.
Wishful thinking, and would probably cost way more than DK would want to invest.
I heard they were once (pre Sisu) looking into a site off the A45 between Meriden and the M42.

Ryton will be fine if it is updated and the Connexion is ours again, there’s the lodge too not sure how big that is.
If that Connexion building was properly modernised and brought into the 21st century it could be very impressive.
Who owns it now ?

Maybe he wanted to leave 15% with Shitsu and then buy it later to look even more like a hero

No, Richardson got rid of his shares so it was transfered to someone else and not part of the Wasps carve up. How convenient, must of had a crystal ball at what was coming next?
