Fantastic synopsis Nick.

My live stream kept on going down too.

I feel so much better after listening to MR, seens very assured and importsntly honest.

Good questions for a change from audience, very very positive now about the season ahead. Especially after the JJ news.

Sorry - late to the party - did Kyel Reid get a mention?

Think that’s for the best. Hopefully Robins has forgotten all about him!

Btw thanks for tuning in and to Nick for doing what he could on here with updates. Almost at SW88’s level. Think the second stream went much better than the first. 30mb upload and 60 download so it should’ve been good enough. No idea what happened.

He spoke extremely well. Knew when to be serious and when to have a joke.

I know it's easy to say being in League 2 etc, but I genuinely believe he is the best manager we've had since the turn of the century. Across two stints he's had a very decent record, he's honest and hardworking, but most of all understands the size of the club, it's history and where it could go.

He was very impressive. Good to hear that he isn't a rant and shout merchant at half time but actually talks to the players and advises on how they can improve. I remember watching Peter Reid give his half time team talk in the documentary on Sunderland and thinking it was very similar to lots of my Sunday League managers, incoherent and lacking in anything constructive. Good to know he is much better than that. One of his main themes was that he needs time, that it is a building process and if given that he will succeed. He mentioned it took him three years to get Rotherham challenging. Maybe food for thought for those who feel that no promotion this season means we need another new manager. I hope he gets the time he needs.

What did he say about Jones? I'm guessing it was mentioned before stream improved?

Robins has high demands, when he first came in he banned phones because everybody was on their phone not talking.

He has walked in an caught a couple of people and fined them a weeks wages, they have a chance to earn it back by working hard.

He wants that culture around the club.

I guess there wasnt too much he could say about Jones but I would have liked the question "so what plans do you have now with Jones injury? It appears none of the youngsters are ready to take his place and Vincenti doesnt have the speed or quality for whats required"

I watched it back and there was a question about changing formation/using other players (Haynes was mentioned) in the Jones role. MR's answer was 'we'll wait and see' with a smirk - he wasn't willing to give anything away on that one.

Seems to me that MR spoke well and honestly. No airs or graces but it is clear that he cares about what he is doing. Seemed relaxed and was himself

Hopefully he gets the backing his commitment and professionalism deserve

Thanks for the updates on this Nick, Robins comes across well here as he tends to on the radio. Always seems quite upfront about things so I find it easier to believe him.
