On the back of this bullshit rumour a few weeks back he's gone to Blackburn Rovers on trial.

Because he scores almost every other game, we could get him and play him until he scores then don't play him the next game because we know he won't score and play someone else instead ...see football management is simple

Another week goes by and no players in. Three weeks until the first game of the season and im now a little worried. The team is no where ready or as strong as last season let alone pushing for promotion

Calm down, it will be fine. Have faith in TM and MV. Why all the negative stuff and feeling???

I can understand the eagerness to get players in, but can't understand the negativity before the season has started and still with three weeks to go.

TM says 3 players in.

If that doesn't happen at all, then I would start to worry, but he is hopeful and sounds confident, so, so am I.

"Negativity" Well how an earth do you build a team that can compete in 3 weeks? The stature of the club gets lower every season whilst these clowns(Sisu) hold the reines.

Have the other teams in the league been very busy signing players, I have only paid attention to two others Sheffield Utd signed a limited midfielder and my nephew signed for Fleetwood.

Other teams probably retained most of their first choice squad,so dont need to rebuild every year like we do.

And there lies the problem. Starting a season every year with half the team made up of new players who have had a week or less to train with the rest of the team isnt a way to run a football club. I think tm realises this and thats why hes trying to sign players on longer deals but for the past few years we have tried to run the club on a shoe string by selling anything of value, signing loans or players at the last minute on 12 month contracts so we dont pay wages any longer than we have to. The club needs a team with good foundations and a nucleus of a first team where we can add players of better quality when they become available. Not having to build a new first team every season

This is why some of us were saying it is a two to three year job to build a team. You cannot do it over two or three transfer windows.

Look at the team that started those first two games compared to the ones that started at Christmas.

The manager fucked around with it. We had a good enough team.

It would be a long term job, if you built on the players you already had, instead of binning them or selling them.

I could have played in that friendly today and no one would have noticed.

I was responding to a point about the fact that players need weeks and weeks together. They proved last season they don't. Team selection is totally different thing.

Correct. Who says it takes weeks for players to gel? They train with each other day in day out so shouldn't take long at all.
Bringing in journeymen like Fortune, Hunt and Henderson is where we come unstuck.
It's good to see TM hasn't done that this pre-season........yet!!
