What would happen if we beat Hartlepool and got a big Premier League team at Sixfields? I think it would test a few people and could possibly be hammered by neutrals but I do think it would sell out still and a lot of city fans would come out of the wood work for it.

One word... Hill.

Haven't been the past two home games up there but would definitely be going if we got a big team.
Could get hundreds and hundreds on the hill if we got Villa.

I think SISU would attempt to switch the 'home' tie to 'away', otherwise they'd be forgoing a huge amount of income at a tiny stadium-even they can't be that stupid....or could they ?

What are the rules with switching location?

Think a lot of neutrals would snap up tickets, and of course those from the oppositoin. Ground only holds 7.5k (ish). Also, most locals support the usual "big" clubs (which I suppose makes them neutrals!). Would more than likely be to TV also due to the object of curiosity that our club has become.

I suspect they'd ask to play at the other teams ground, as they get almost half the gate money each don't they for cup games? If not then just sell more tickets to away fans.

Definitely frowned upon to switch home to away, i believe, maybe not even allowed anymore-really not sure.
Would sisu consider switching it to a(nother) neutral ground on safety grounds ?

My principle wouldn't change just because we drew a big team. Not even remotely.

Sounds like you just have to ask if you're in the Premiership/Champrionship/League 1 & 2:

FACup Rules said:
9. VENUE FOR MATCHES
(a)
Venue

(i) The venue of each match (save for the Semi-Finals or Final which will be played at venues selected by the Professional Game Board) will be that of the first named Club. Subject to Competition Rules 9(a)(ii) and 9(a)(iii) such match shall be played on that ground unless the consent of the Professional Game Board has been obtained to any change of venue. In the case of a replay, subject to Competition Rules 9(a)(ii) and 9(a)(iii), the match shall be played on the ground of the second drawn Club, unless the consent of the Professional Game Board has been obtained to any change of venue.

(ii) For a tie to be played on the ground of a Club outside The FA Premier League or Football League playing a Club from The FA Premier League or The Football League a meeting must be arranged by the Home Club with the local safety authority and/or Police and representatives of The Association to assess the suitability from a safety or security point of view of staging a tie at the ground. Any such meeting must be held within three days of the date of the Draw (or the date of the drawn tie in the case of a replay). Following such meeting, the Professional Game Board will decide whether to allow and require the match to be played at such ground or not, taking into account the views expressed at such meeting. In the event that following such meeting, the Professional Game Board allow and require the match to be played at that ground, the Away Club may still lodge a protest under the provision of Competition Rule 9(b) if applicable. In the event that following such meeting, the Professional Game Board decide not toallow and require the match to be played at that ground then the first alternative ground shall be the nearest suitable ground subjectto the agreement of the Professional Game Board.

(iii) In any event, the Professional Game Board shall have the power to order that any
match be played on an alternative ground or date, including a Sunday, if it is considered appropriate and necessary. For ties switched from the ground of the Club first drawn, then the Professional Game Board shall determine the financial conditions
in which the tie shall be played and this may include, any excess receipts to be paid into the Pool.

(iv) No monetary or other consideration shall be asked for, offered or paid in connection with negotiations for a change of venue.

(v) Any Club with a tie switched after declaring that the ground has been authorised to acapacity agreed with the local authority or Police may be refused entry into the Competition for the following season and be subject to such other action as the Professional Game Board shall deem necessary

Absolutley no chance of me going, regardless of who we draw. Went to AFC Wimbledon and going to Hartlepool, but will not go to Sixfields (unless we drew Northampton away)

In which case SISU could be clever and ask for it to be at the away ground and take more of the ticket money

I see it has FA rules, not FL rules. If it was FL rules it would be littered with "at our discretion"

Why not - if its old Trafford you'd get 10,000 city fans forgetting principals for a day.

Havent we been well supported away all season? Did we not take 11k to Man U in league cup Pre - SiSu? so what principals are we forgetting exactly?

Exactly, except it would also be another chance for us to take a large away following. Yes SISU get half the gate money but it isn't at Sixfields.

The NOPM principal. But he knows many people don't go because they don't want to, not because of NOPM, but as many people claim it's all about that he is trying to make a point.

We're not all boycotting sixfields because of nopm, some of us just don't agree with having our club moved 35 miles away.

I have been to all the away games for the last 20 years and will continue to do so.

Supposedly so. Although the hill such a size that to bloke it off would be a nightmare.

That's an impressive record jas365 in any situation. In fact no it's an amazing achievement well done.

This argument (and the premise of the thread) cracks me up.

The premise is simple: I won't go to Sixfields to watch CCFC play "at home" because I don't agree with the arrangement.

Nothing about other clubs, side income, whatever, just that.

That is the opinion of the vast majority of boycotters I'd imagine. Attempting to argue caveats is just trying too hard IMO.

So of it's a home tie and they'd switch it you'd go?
