Hashtag is trending on twitter which made me think about my own City FA Cup Memories. Only being 21 myself, 87 is out of the question, most of mine are all funny ones as opposed to any success we've had in the cup..

Have we had anything to cheer about in the cup since?

The quarter final defeat at sheffield united is the furthest we have got (along with Chelsea at Ricoh a couple of season ago)
Highlights for me have been the demolition of Liverpool at Anfield and that famous Valentines Day victory at Villa park.

Bad-That Sheff Utd defeat is an abiding memory for me.... a bad one.. how Moldovan missed that header lord only knows... the penalty shoot out loss was after that inevitable. 4 of us went in a car... one of us was so traumatised he literally didnt speak for weeks.... like post traumatic stress disorder.... was unbelievable.

Good- Obviously 87 and all that... especially the Sheff fixtures.... Amazing.. truly truly amazing.:claping hands:

WBA away..I think it was early 80's... we lost 2-0...Cyril scored for the baggies.... outside the ground post match was like a war zone... I hid in someones garden shed as the near riot erupted!!!

Plymouth away... we won 3-1.. Home park.....we went down to 10 men.. as I recall Whelan got sent of...the same four that went to Sheff utd went down in a Ford Escort......jeez that was a slow car.. it took forever for us to get back....but it didnt matter:claping hands:

Northampton Away- lost 1-0... 4 of us in my mates Talbot Sunbeam... he got pissed.. I drove his car from the pub to the ground.. about 2 miles... he'd just changed the brake master cylinder.. forgot to tell me to pump the pedal a little :jerkit:.. nearly crashed.. he had to sell the car soon after...4 brown seats... didnt smell great either....if youre on these boards.. skull...you know who you are..;)

One of the best was beating villa, one game I always remember was the fa cup 4th round in 1987-88 season when we lost to Watford 1-0 so lost the defence of the fa cup.

I remember listening on the f
Radio as Ndlovu scored that goal v West Brom.

When we went 1 up v Sheff utd and it all seemed like we were heading for the semis. Whole goeund signing "We're on the March with Gordons Army..."

I went to every round as I did every year back then. I don't remember much about Bolton or the Stoke games. Remember it was frosty and cold at Old Trafford. QF is a bit of a blur and I felt ill for the majority of the Leeds game. Also remember getting vertigo as the terracing at Hillsborough was so steep in the home end. As for the final, remember queueing in the cattle sheds at Coventry station to get the train and remember afterwards going to the station mingling with the Spurs fans and they seemed genuinely shocked they'd lost. They were nice to us though.

Ignoring 87 the most enjoyable games Ive been to were the away games at Liverpool won 3-1 and Villa won 1-0 Dublin, Boateng, Huckerby team and the away game at WBA with Nuddys winner off the post. Worst games were the Sheff Utd qtr final defeat and Derby at the baseball ground we were 2-0 up (I think Whelan scored one but my memories going) and ended up losing lost 3-2, also similar game at home against Charlton seems to stick in the memory.

Yeah.. That charlton game.
My late father always swore blind that THAT game was the beginning of our decline. Were we not 2-0 up at half time cruising and should have had more....then somehow lost 3-2?
