So if it starts raining during a race they're going to stop and wait for it to pass. And no-one wants the disgrace that was Belgium last year.

The wife doesn't follow F1 but listens in whilst I'm watching and she's just asked why someone like Brundle isn't race director as he always seems to talk a lot of sense. Hard to argue with that really.

Even Christian Horner's said he'd have started it. The racers, tbf to them, tend to be happy to go and race. At the risk of turning into a reactionary rightie, it's Health and Safety gone mad

Still prefer to see a proper race start, rather than following the pace car

As long as two laps of that doesn't end up the race, eh!

Champions League Final delayed.
Monaco Grand Prix delayed.

I'm assuming the play-off final will actually start on time.

Well yes, but to get a proper race start, they’d have to be reasonably confident it’s safe enough.

I should have added “If possible” to my comment.

They're going to end up waiting themselves into more bad weather at this rate.

Schumacher's ripped that cat to bits, must have been a scary shunt.

All things considered that's not a huge shunt and the car splits in half?

I was expecting a bigger hit than it was, guess it's down to how they're designed these days after Grosjean's crash.

Yes, it seems that way but it was nowhere near the impact I was expecting when I saw the wreckage. On a track like this it's possible for a close running car to avoid driving into the accident ahead but when 1 car becomes 2 it's going to be much harder not to get collected too.

Can't believe they haven't put mediums on that Ferrari.

It's time to bin this track off. On to the Indy 500, hopefully it'll be entertaining.

Cars follow that close and can't overtake!! Pitiful.

Again only interesting things that happen in this race are drivers misfortunes, team mistakes etc.

And still two best teams way ahead of the pack - rule changes not made enough of an impact.
Ever get a race without safety cars and they'll be lapping 5 th placed car before race is 3/4 of the way done.

With the way the car split I assume it's almost what it's designed to do under extreme forces. Rather break there than in the middle of the cockpit where the driver is. Also more likely to be a weak point as it's a join between two parts of the car.

Like with steel capped boots - great for protection but once that protection stops it's not pretty and why you can end up losing toes if the force is applied at the wrong place.

Russell out qualifying Lewis again

He certainly seems to have the measure of him.......

Also, if Perez carries this on, then Max Verstappen racing team will have a headache

Johnny Herbert is the F1 version of Michael Owen

Wish they'd sack him off

Looks that way. Red Bull seem to have got well on top of their reliability.

If it was me, I'd be asking Ross Brawn if he would like to name his price to come back.

Ferrari have gone far too aggressive on Leclerc's setup. It's no good having a straight line advantage if you've got no traction to make use of it.

The sport really needs to sort itself out

Lewis Hamilton responds after racist slur used by former world champion Nelson Piquet

Piquet, who is the father of Max Verstappen's partner, Kelly Piquet, was on a Brazilian podcast last November discussing the collision between Hamilton and Verstappen during the 2021 British GP when he used a racially offensive expression in Portuguese to refer to Hamilton.

Vips was especially dumb, had a potentially bright future ahead, and he's gone and wrecked it. Saying that though, haven't seen anywhere that he's lost his F2 drive from it, but if it was Red Bull paying for it I'd imagine he will be.
