I wasn't there on Saturday, been waiting for the extended highlights. It looks like we did enough to win the game, classic case of not taking our chances. Maybe not as quick as we needed to be in the first half. Their left back definitely should have been sent off.

Including the two-yellow red, the card brandished at their manager and the player who was subbed off, Oxford received 9 yellow cards on Saturday.

And still should have had more.

So many decent chances and a number for Wright in particular.

Would require Grimes to use his right foot for something other than standing tho.

To be fair he rarely does on shots, but as a playmaker with vital passes, he's top drawer.

I was so frustrated with the last 10 minutes as we once again failed to get the ball in the box enough . But I never thought it was a poor performance on the drive home and those fuckers that booed need to think about what there doing to the team already low on confidence. On another day we win 3-0 ! Hadji Wight's finishing was dog shite and he needs to get scoring again soon if were going to go up automatically.

This was so bad from Wolf. He was jogging back keeping himself goal side of their winger!

Again, look at the positions of our full backs.

I mean this is just fucking tragic top to bottom, isn't it. Three players on #37 getting in each other's way???

This shows 2 things for me. I was going mental with Wolfy at the time as it was so poor, he can see everything and could have stepped up to play offside .
Also I can't remember this coming from our throw but it must have done as look at Milan near ref we are so poor in transition both when we lose the ball but also when we gain it back were just so slow to attack and have no bravery on the ball and pass back or sideways

‘Extended highlights’ is an incitement to violence.

Incredibly frustrating at the time. It took me a while to calm down.

Watching these highlights last night has cheered me up a little though: we were so much better than Oxford and did all the right sort of stuff.

That crappy final score has to be a knock to the confidence though.

The extended highlights also missed off a great chance MvE had to slip Wright in early first half, by the time he passed to Wright it was a wider angle and he hits it straight at keeper

Strange as it was on the short highlights

Should’ve won comfortably and the performance whilst frustrating in patches, didn’t warrant the meltdown or the booing

That's why I said earlier this week that I don't know why I comment on match threads, the emotion of the result skews perception of the performance. It wasn't great but it should have been enough to win. I think a bit more composure and we'd have won comfortably.

Exactly this.

Anyone would think we absolutely stunk the place out that day, but we didn't.

We just huffed and puffed a bit and couldn't break them down because some of our play was a bit ponderous and we lacked a bit of pace in the attacking play buildups.

Wright really should have scored that one when he was put through on goal and then we would have all been happy with the three points.

It wasn't awful, it just wasn't enough.
